(Anthem) that\u00a0over 27,000\u00a0North Dakotans were directly impacted by its recent data\u00a0security breach. Anthem has\u00a0indicated it will be sending a letter to anyone\u00a0affected,\u00a0so people should\u00a0closely\u00a0watch their mail\u00a0for any correspondence from Anthem.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI remain extremely concerned about this security breach and encourage North Dakotans to pay attention to these communications,\u201d said Commissioner Adam Hamm.\u00a0\u201cI continue to have weekly discussions with Anthem to pursue appropriate protection for consumers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Insurance Department, with its counterparts in\u00a0Indiana, California, Maine, Missouri, New Hampshire and South Carolina, is leading a multistate examination of the Anthem companies.<\/p>\n<p>Information containing individual and dependent names, addresses, social security numbers and birth dates was compromised.
