(AP) &#8211; The North Dakota attorney general says the Foster County Commission violated open records and meetings law when the county auditor privately acted as a liaison between the chairman and other commissioners.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Wayne Stenehjem says the chairman of the commission asked the auditor to contact the two remaining commissioners about the chairman&#8217;s decision to fire a county employee because of time card discrepancies.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Stenehjem says the exchange of information and attempt to build consensus on the issue was a matter of public business and it should have been advertised with a notice.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The attorney general ordered that conversations be prepared from the signed statements of the commission and auditor, and be made available to the public.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BISMARCK, N.D.
