Deb Kantrud<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Jamestown (CSi) The South Central Dakota Regional Council Executive Board has approved working with Stutsman County officials to resolve the issues related to the county&#8217;s multi-hazard mitigation plan completion<\/p>\n<p>The executive board Wednesday agreed to seek payment from Stutsman County equal to how much of the mitigation plan was completed by the Regional Council.<\/p>\n<p>Regional Council executive director, Deb Kantrud said former planner Daniel Schwartz had estimated that the plan was 70 percent done before he was fired on May 18<sup>th<\/sup> . Kantrud said Schwartz not completing the plan by the June 1st deadline in the contract the Regional Council had with Stutsman County was part of the reason she fired Schwartz.<\/p>\n<p>Schwartz said at the executive board&#8217;s May 20 meeting that he was told by Kantrud he was fired for being insubordinate.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday the Stutsman County Commission approved terminating the contract with the Regional Council for work the council did on the mitigation plan.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Previously&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown (CSi) The Stutsman County Commission has approved terminating an agreement the county has with South Central Dakota Regional Council updating the county&#8217;s multi-hazard mitigation plan.<\/p>\n<p>In 2013 the county contracted with the Regional Council to provide consulting and advisory services to revise the plan.<\/p>\n<p>Stutsman County Emergency Manager, Jerry Bergquist says the Regional Council missed a June 1 deadline to complete the plan, which would then be submitted to state and federal officials for approval.<\/p>\n<p>Bergquist says the county and regional council will negotiate how much the regional council will be paid for the work it has completed on the plan.<\/p>\n<p>\u3000<\/p>\n<p>In other business, the commission approved the sale of three lots in the I-94 Business Park from the Jamestown\/Stutsman Development Corp. to Magnum LTL for $221,000.
