{"id":79549,"date":"2015-08-18T14:33:21","date_gmt":"2015-08-18T19:33:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=79549"},"modified":"2015-08-18T14:34:37","modified_gmt":"2015-08-18T19:34:37","slug":"uj-best-in-the-midwest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=79549","title":{"rendered":"UJ &#8220;Best in the Midwest&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/princetonreview.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-79554\" alt=\"princetonreview\" src=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/princetonreview.png\" width=\"172\" height=\"79\" \/><\/a>(CSi)\u00a0 University of Jamestown has once again been ranked as a &#8220;Best in the Midwest&#8221; college by The Princeton Review in its annual review of colleges and universities.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Princeton Review&#8217;s Senior VP-Publisher, Robert Franek, says,\u00a0 &#8220;We chose University of Jamestown, and the other outstanding institutions on this list, <span>primarily for their excellent academics.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The Princeton Review editors made their selections based on data the company collected from its survey of administrators at several hundred colleges in each region, as well as its staff visits to schools over the years, and the perspectives of college counselors and advisors whose opinions the company solicits. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>Franek added, &#8220;We also gave careful consideration to what students enrolled at the schools reported to us about their campus experiences.\u00a0 Only schools at which we see a strong level of satisfaction among their enrolled students \u2013 whom we consider their <i>customers<\/i> \u2013 make it to our final slate of regional &#8216;best&#8217; college selections.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>UJ Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean Paul J. Olson says,\u00a0 this designation is a reflection of the high quality of teaching by our faculty.\u00a0 Whether it is in a classroom, a lab, at a camp on the shore of Hudson Bay, or in a hospital in rural Kenya, students at UJ have come to expect excellent teaching from our professors.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Princeton Review survey asks students to rate their colleges on several issues \u2013from the accessibility of their professors to the quality of their science lab facilities \u2013 and answer questions about themselves, their fellow students, and their campus life.
