Justin Blinksy stated that there was another male and female in the home during the scuffle and that all individuals appear to know each other.<\/p>\n<p>During the investigation, Jones\u2019 dog charged authorities K9 patrol and they ended up shooting Jones\u2019 dog.\u00a0\u00a0Stutsman County Sheriff Chad Kaiser said Deputy Matthew Thom, K-9 Unit &#8220;Dreamos\u2019&#8221; handler, attempted to move Dreamos away from Jones\u2019 dog to de-escalate a possible confrontation between the two dogs.<\/p>\n<p>The dog\u00a0 was transported to Southwood Vets and was later put down stemming from injuries.<\/p>\n<p>Chief Edinger said that \u00a0he was sorry that Jones\u2019 dog was shot and killed, adding\u00a0that, &#8220;The important thing is no other human beings were injured. We feel terrible this happened.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Previously&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>JAMESTOWN, N.D. (AP, CSi) &#8211; Jamestown police say an early morning home invasion ended with a man being shot.\u00a0 <strong>(see more below)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Lt. Justin Blinsky says, \u00a0the man who broke into the home at\u00a01115 1st Avenue North, shortly before 12:30 a.m. Friday, \u00a0got into a confrontation with the homeowner and was shot in the abdominal area with a handgun. \u00a0He was taken to Jamestown Regional Medical Center and later tranferred to\u00a0a Fargo hospital with injuries that Blinsky says do not appear to be life-threatening.<\/p>\n<p>Blinsky said the doors to the house were locked and there was another male and female in the house during the incident.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The investigation is ongoing and no names of anyone involved have been released by the Jamestown Police Department.<\/p>\n<p>The Stutsman County Sheriff\u2019s Office, Stutsman County Narcotics Task Force and North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation assisted at the scene.<\/p>\n<p>More information as it becomes available on line at CSiNewsNow.com<\/p>\n<div><strong>By<\/strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wday.com\/users\/bryn-nelson\">Bryn Nelson<\/a>\u00a0 <!-- Schema.Org Articles --><strong>WDAY-TV-6 Fargo<\/strong><\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Jamestown, ND (WDAY TV) &#8211; A home invasion in Jamestown turned into a nightmare for the homeowner.\u00a0The homeowner shot the intruder. Police shot his dog.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Police were called to a home around 12:17 a.m. The homeowner says everything happened within five minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Delmonty Jones, &#8220;It was just so crazy. It happened so fast. I don&#8217;t even know what happened, it happened so fast. All I know is somebody was in my house that wasn&#8217;t supposed to be there.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Delmonty Jones, the owner of the house on 1st Avenue North, says he was just getting back from a business meeting when he heard a loud noise.<\/p>\n<p>Jones, &#8220;I heard this crash. It sounded like a window, but I guess it was him kicking the door in. He came in. He head butted me.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>During the confrontation, Jones says he was able to grab his handgun and shoot the intruder.<\/p>\n<p>Lt. Justin Blinsky\/Jamestown Police,\u00a0&#8220;He&#8217;s in the Fargo hospital at this time. We believe that the injuries were non-life-threatening.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>A woman who was at the house during the break-in says the intruder was her husband who she was planning on leaving. She told us the bullet is stuck in his hip bone and is heading into a second surgery.<\/p>\n<p>Lt. Blinsky, &#8220;It&#8217;s not taken lightly when you&#8217;re using that amount of force and so that&#8217;s part of the investigation.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>After the police arrived, Jones was handcuffed and taken outside. That&#8217;s when his says he dog came out of the home and someone from the sheriff&#8217;s office shot it.<\/p>\n<p>Jones: &#8220;He (the dog) didn&#8217;t even go for the police officer. He was going for the police&#8217;s dog. The Sheriff&#8217;s dog. He wasn&#8217;t even bothering him. You know he could&#8217;ve tazed my dog, but instead he shot my dog. &#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The dog was taken to the vet and put to sleep later Friday morning. Jones says he was very pleased with how the police handled everything up to that point.<\/p>\n<p>Jones, &#8220;He was everybody&#8217;s family dog and everybody loved Suge. It&#8217;s just, Wow.
