{"id":81378,"date":"2015-11-24T06:40:18","date_gmt":"2015-11-24T12:40:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=81378"},"modified":"2015-11-24T20:06:51","modified_gmt":"2015-11-25T02:06:51","slug":"holiday-dazzle-on-main-parade-nov-24","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=81378","title":{"rendered":"Dazzle Parade Tues before Thanksgiving, Nov 24"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Jamestown (CSi)\u00a0 Parade entries are still be sought for this year&#8217;s Jamestown Holiday Dazzle on Main Parade.<\/p>\n<p>The date this year has been changed and the parade route slightly altered.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday&#8217;s Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2 Jamestown Downtown Association, Ambassador, Charlie Kourajian said,\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> the date this year is TUESDAY NOVEMBER 24, 2015, AT 7-P.M., IN DOWNTOWN JAMESTOWN.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>He added that while the parade will still form at McElroy Park, and then head down 8th Street Southeast and over to 1st Avenue South and will end just before the railroad tracks.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0The parade is no longer allowed to cross the railroad tracks, and will turn east on 1st Street East, to 2nd Avenue East and head south back to McElroy Park.\u00a0 He noted that the best place still to view the parade is on First Avenue as some of the floats may decide to disband\u00a0 after passing by on First Avenue.<\/p>\n<p>For nonmembers of the JDA, participating in the parade is $35. For members there is a $25 fee, and for nonprofit organizations that are unable to afford the fee, it may be waived, Kourajian said. The JDA is also accepting sponsors for the parade for $100, and if the sponsors also want to participate in the parade, their registration fee is then waived.<\/p>\n<p>Those wanting an entry form should call Charlie Kourajian at 701-320-3015,<\/p>\n<p>or\u00a0\u00a0email to: \u00a0 mainstreet@csicable.net<\/p>\n<p>Floats will be judged before the \u00a0for lights, motion, creativity, holiday spirit, theme originality and music.\u00a0 Winners\u00a0of:\u00a0 Best Dazzle, Most Original Theme, Most Outstanding Amateur Built, and Most Outstanding Civic or Non-Profit float,\u00a0will be announced at the After Parade Party, at Shady&#8217;s.\u00a0 Trophies and $100 cash will be awarded to the winners.<\/p>\n<p>Kourajian\u00a0 encourages participants to decorate floats with a holiday theme, lights and music, if possible. Using Santa Claus decor is discouraged because the last float of the parade has Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus aboard.<\/p>\n<p>The After Parade Party will be at Shady&#8217;s, at the Gladstone Inn &amp; Suites in Jamestown, with refreshments, and entertainment by the Jamestown Choralaires.<\/p>\n<p>There will be a meeting of parade entrants on Monday November 23, 2015, at 5-p.m., at Babb&#8217;s Coffee House, where float numbers will be handed out, along with other instructions.<\/p>\n<p>Also, before the parade, the community Christmas Tree lighting will take place at 5:15 p.m., at the west side of the Jamestown Civic Center.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Previously&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p>There is a new day for the 2015 Annual <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Holiday Dazzle on Main Parade<\/span><\/strong>. \u00a0The parade\u00a0will be held the\u00a0<strong>Tuesday before Thanksgiving, \u00a0<\/strong>at 7pm \u00a0Nov. 24,<strong> \u00a0<\/strong>in downtown Jamestown, ND. \u00a0 That&#8217;s according to\u00a0the Jamestown Chamber of Commerce Executive,\u00a0Becky Thatcher-Keller.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/dazzleparade2015.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-82438\" alt=\"dazzleparade2015\" src=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/dazzleparade2015-300x202.png\" width=\"300\" height=\"202\" srcset=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/dazzleparade2015-300x202.png 300w, http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/dazzleparade2015-259x175.png 259w, http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/dazzleparade2015.png 445w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>While traditionally held after Thanksgiving, the committee voted to move it to the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, \u00a0with the tree lighting being held on Tuesday as well.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, some pre-notices for the Dazzle Parade had already been distributed with the old date, and will have to be corrected.<\/p>\n<p>The Replay Channel will air the Tuesday parade during the holiday so your out-of-town family and guests will be able to see the parade. \u00a0 Be sure to inform your friends and family of the change of date.<\/p>\n<p>For additional information or to get an entry blank, please call 701-320-3015 \u00a0or\u00a0\u00a0email to: \u00a0 mainstreet@csicable.net<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jamestown (CSi)\u00a0 Parade entries are still be sought for this year&#8217;s Jamestown Holiday Dazzle on Main Parade.
