LaMoure (CSi) The LaMoure Couny Sheriff\u2019s Office reports that\u00a0 25 year Cody Lee Gawryluk, of Bismarck, was apprehended\u00a0 without incident Tuesday morning, in LaMoure, and was taken into custody of the LaMoure County Sheriff\u2019s Department.<\/p>\n

LaMoure County Sheriff Robert Fernandes said Gawryluck,, was apprehended at 9:45 a.m. in an apartment in LaMoure, in conjunction with LaMoure Police Department and Dickey County Sheriff\u2019s Department. Gawryluk was the subject of a manhunt that started Sunday afternoon.\u00a0\u00a0A county-wide search extended into Dickey County.<\/p>\n

On Monday the North Dakota Highway Patrol joined the search with troopers and an airplane. About 15 law enforcement officers were involved with the search for Gawryluk.<\/p>\n

Searchers looked in the Oakes area Monday until the search was called off on Monday evening.<\/p>\n

Fernandes says Gawryluk was taken to CHI Oakes Hospital as Gawryluk\u00a0indicate that \u00a0he was in pain. Fernandes said Gawryluk had a wound on his right shin, but\u00a0not \u00a0a major injury. Gawryluk was treated then transported to Barnes County Correctional Facility.<\/p>\n

According to reports, Gawryluk was originally wanted on several charges out of Burleigh County including Felon with Firearms, Breaking into A Vehicle, Burglary, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia with Intent To Distribute.<\/p>\n

The \u00a0LaMoure County state\u2019s attorney will determine any charges\u00a0they may be \u00a0brought against Gawryluk in this case.<\/p>\n

While Gawryluk was at-large Monday the LaMoure School went into lockdown between 12:20-p.m., and 2:30-p.m., when law enforcement gave school officials the all-clear.<\/p>\n

LaMoure County Sheriff Robert Fernandes stated that on Tuesday morning local law enforcement working in conjunction with LaMoure Police Department and Dickey County Sheriff\u2019s Department, apprehended Code Lee Gawryluk without incident.<\/p>\n

Gawryluk is in custody at the Barnes County Jail.<\/p>\n

Gawryluk had been the subject of a search since 12:20 pm Monday afternoon, as a county-wide search extended into Dickey County.<\/p>\n

LaMoure (CSi) School Officials in LaMoure<\/a> report that the school lockdown that was implemented at 12:20 Monday afternoon was lifted<\/p>\n

The\u00a0school\u2019s website said, after working and talking with law enforcement, the lockdown was ended at LaMoure School.<\/p>\n

Normal activities and events will occur Monday as scheduled.\u00a0Bus schedules will run as normal, with the only exception being the town students will be dropped off at their house rather than walking a couple blocks to their house.<\/p>\n

The lockdown was considered pre-cautionary until more information was gathered from various entities, including law enforcement about the situation.<\/p>\n

A CodeRed statement issued on Monday afternoon stated:<\/p>\n

“Law Enforcement is searching for a suspect in LaMoure. They may enter outbuildings and garages looking for the suspect. If you see a suspicious white male, 6ft, 200-220 lbs with a dark hood sweatshirt,\u00a0shaved head, no shoes and jeans, please call 9-1-1 immediately and DO NOT approach the individual. Thank you for your cooperation.”<\/p>\n

\"Gawryluk\"<\/a>The man being sought \u00a0has been identified as Cody Lee Gawryluk. His head is currently shaved.<\/p>\n

The LaMoure County Sheriff’s Department describes Gawryluk as 6’0″ and 200 pounds. He was last seen wearing a green hoodie and blue jeans. The Sheriff also reports Gawryluk’s head is currently shaved.<\/p>\n

He is believed to be dangerouse. Authorities ask that you \u00a0do not approach him, but rather you call 911.<\/p>\n

The search was called off\u00a0\u00a0Gawryluk about 9-p.m.,\u00a0Monday night at around in Oakes after unconfirmed reports brought law enforcement\u2019s search to the area.<\/p>\n

KFGO Radio reports that Gawryluk is an escaped prisoner.<\/p>\n

The LaMoure County Sheriff’s Office has not released addtional information as on Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n

LaMoure (CSi)\u00a0In cooperation with law enforcement in their manhunt for a person in the town of LaMoure, the LaMoure School will be in lockdown until further notice and cooperation with law enforcement.<\/p>\n

The students are not in danger, and this is being done as a pre-cautionary measure.<\/p>\n

The LaMoure School Alert Now notification system is out of business and\u00a0the school has been transitioning to a different notification system of Blackboard Connect.\u00a0\u00a0 At the current time, they do not have the system up and running.\u00a0 The Alert Now system is at the current time non-functional.\u00a0\u00a0 Check back to the LaMoure school website of lamoure.k12.nd.us for further updates.<\/p>\n

Again, the LaMoure Public School\u2019s website has issued a release stating that the students are not in danger and the lock down is just a precautionary measure. The lock down will remain in effect until further notice.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
