A replacement crew\u00a0 headed to Syracuse to take passengers to Boston.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Boston Globe posted an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bostonglobe.com\/metro\/2015\/10\/05\/audio-medical-emergency-boston-bound-flight\/Kam7SYKYzn82C35pwA78rK\/story.html?s_campaign=bostonglobe%3Asocialflow%3Atwitterhttp:\/\/www.bostonglobe.com\/metro\/2015\/10\/05\/audio-medical-emergency-boston-bound-flight\/Kam7SYKYzn82C35pwA78rK\/story.html?s_campaign=bostonglobe%3Asocialflow%3Atwitter\" target=\"_blank&quot;&quot;\">audiotape<\/a> of the crew reporting a medical emergency to air traffic controllers.<\/p>\n<p>American Airlines Flight 550 took off from Phoenix, Arizona and made an emergency landing at Syracuse Hancock International Airport at 7:13 a.m. after\u00a0the pilot became ill.<\/p>\n<p>According to CNN:<\/p>\n<p><em>Captain Michael Johnston, 57, was piloting the plane when he fell ill somewhere en route.
