(AP) &#8211; North Dakota Secretary of State Al Jaeger has accepted a petition to put an initiated measure on next year&#8217;s ballot to legalize marijuana for medical purposes.<\/p>\n<p>Jaeger accepted the petition on Monday. He had rejected it last week because it lacked required information.<\/p>\n<p>With voters&#8217; approval, the initiative would make it legal for North Dakota residents to possess up to 3 ounces of marijuana for medical purposes. It says those who qualify could obtain the drug from a state-licensed dispensary or grow a limited supply for personal use.<\/p>\n<p>Rilie Ray Morgan of Fargo is heading the campaign and says he has never used marijuana as a pain reliever but would like the option of doing so.<\/p>\n<p>The initiative will need signatures from about 13,500 voters to qualify for the ballot.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D.
