\"Preparedbooklet<\/a>Jamestown\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 The postal distribution of the newly revised “Are You Prepared” booklets
\nthat was expected to occur late last week was delayed due to a number of
\nproduction and distribution issues.\u00a0 Some of the booklets in the initial
\nprint order were of poor quality and had to be reprinted.\u00a0 The reprinting
\nprocess added several days to the distribution time line.<\/p>\n

It’s now anticipated that the majority of the booklet distribution will
\noccur Friday and Saturday after the Thanksgiving holiday.\u00a0 The 6″ X 9″
\nbooklet will be mailed in an envelope with the return address of the
\nStutsman County Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC).\u00a0 We ask everyone
\nto look at the return address before possibly discarding a very important
\nresource.<\/p>\n

The revised “Are You Prepared” booklet is a project developed by the
\nStutsman County LEPC and replaces the original booklet, with the
\ncandy-striped cover page, distributed in 2007.\u00a0 The primary purpose of the
\nbooklet is to provide Stutsman County residents information regarding
\nactions that can be taken to save lives, reduce injury and protect property
\nin the event of an emergency or disaster.<\/p>\n

If for some reason, an individual or business does not receive a copy of the
\nbooklet in the mail, hard copies will be available at the Stutsman County
\nEmergency Management and Central Valley Health District offices.\u00a0 In
\naddition, on-line versions are available on the Stutsman County Emergency
\nManagement and Central Valley Health District websites.<\/p>\n

The “Are You Prepared” booklet project was paid for with a Homeland Security
\nPlanning grant.<\/p>\n

Jamestown (CSi) The newly revised “Are You Prepared”<\/strong> booklets will be distributed late this week of November 16, 2015, to every postal address in Stutsman County.<\/p>\n

On Monday\u2019s Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2, Stutsman County Emergency Manager, and member of the Stutsman County Local Energency Planning Committee, Jerry Bergquist said, the 6″ X 9″ booklet will be mailed in an envelope with the return address of the Stutsman County Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC). \u00a0We ask everyone to look at the return address<\/strong> and not discard this very important resource.<\/p>\n

The revised “Are You Prepared” booklet is a project developed by the Stutsman County LEPC and replaces the original 2007 booklet with the candy-striped cover page. The new booklet has been expanded from 24 to 32 pages and has been printed on heavier stock paper. The primary purpose of the booklet is to provide Stutsman County citizens information regarding actions that can be taken to save lives, reduce injury and protect property in the event of an emergency or disaster.<\/p>\n

He pointed out that a lot has changed since the first booklet was first published eight years ago, all of the information was updated and reorganized to make the booklet easier to read. The Information Resources section was expanded and additional subject material was added to include disaster preparedness for people with disabilities, tech ready tips, calling 9-1-1, heart attack and stroke, and the national “If you see something, say something” campaign.<\/p>\n
