The daughter of Amy and Lucas Stangeland, she weighed 6 pounds, 3 ounces.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It was really fast,&#8221; said Amy Stangeland, from her hospital room on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Everybody is healthy and that is the main thing,&#8221; said Lucas Stangeland about mother and baby.<\/p>\n<p>Jeslin was due January 11th , but Amy had already come into JRMC twice with contractions prior to making a third 45-mile trip, arriving at 4:30 a.m. on Saturday. She said she knew the third trip was going to be it this time.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Valley City (CSi) CHI Mercy Health has partnered with Whitney Sleep Diagnostics and Consultants to offer a high quality, AASM accredited sleep medicine program in Valley City.<\/p>\n<p>Spokeswoman Karen Burchill says instead of making patients drive to a larger city they have partnered with Dr. Whitney to provide the same level of sleep medicine care that would be found in a major metro market. For a self referral contact Whitney Sleep Diagnostics and Consultants at 1-877-844-6150.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Valley City (CSi) Officials with the Griggs\/Barnes County Joint Water Resource District Boards will hold a public hearing, on January 14, 2016, concerning the establishment of the Silver Creek drain, at the Hannaford Wildlife Club, at 7-p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Then, another special meeting will be held on January 25th at 4pm at the board meeting room at the Barnes County Highway Department offices northwest of Valley City, where ballots will be counted, concerning the Silver Creek drain.<\/p>\n<p>Under the plan a portion of Rose Slough would be drained into the Sheyenne River. Barnes County Water Resource District board member, Dale Jorrison says culverts would be used to drain water.<\/p>\n<p>He says the estimated cost is about $750,000. The cost share ratio would be a 60\/40 split with Barnes County picking up the greater share.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Law enforcement authorities in Grand Forks say a 19-year-old man was found dead in a vehicle parked on the University of North Dakota campus.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Sgt. Danny Weigel with the university&#8217;s police department says an officer found the unresponsive man around 12:23 p.m. Saturday. Weigel says emergency personnel responded to the incident, and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Authorities have not released the man&#8217;s name. Weigel says the man was not a student at the university.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Weigel says no foul play is suspected. He says that based on the preliminary investigation, police believe the public is not in danger.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Toxicology tests will be used to determine the man&#8217;s cause of death.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0MINOT, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Minot police are investigating a rash of business burglaries over the weekend.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Nine businesses were targeted in break-ins on Saturday. There was no immediate word on whether they might be related.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Businesses that were targeted included fast food restaurants, auto repair and sales facilities, a laundry, a financial services company, a glass business and a construction operation. Police did not say what all was taken.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 In one of the burglaries, an employee interrupted the break-in and saw two people wearing hooded sweat shirts flee from the scene.<br \/>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A North Dakota woman says she will plead guilty to having sex with a minor.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Raelynn Marie Thiefoe, of Dunseith, is charged in federal court with sexual abuse of a minor. Authorities say she engaged in a sexual act with a boy between the ages of 12 and 16.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The charge carries a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A federal public defender could not be reached for comment.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0OMAHA, Neb. (AP) &#8211; Figures have dropped for a fifth straight month in a survey of supply managers in nine Midwest and Plains states, providing continuing evidence of a regional economic slowdown.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A report issued Monday says the overall Mid-American Business Conditions Index dropped to 39.6 in December from 40.7 in November, 41.9 in October, 47.7 in September and 49.6 in August.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Creighton University economist Ernie Goss oversees the survey, and he again blames manufacturing losses linked to the strong dollar and economic weakness among trading partners.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The survey results are compiled into a collection of indexes ranging from zero to 100. Survey organizers say any score above 50 suggests economic growth. (AP) &#8211; North Dakota regulators have slated a public hearing in Stanley on a proposed $18 million crude oil pipeline in Mountrail County.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The North Dakota Public Service Commission will take testimony Jan. 12 on Sacagawea Pipeline Co.&#8217;s permit application for the new 8-mile long, 12-inch diameter crude oil pipeline and associated facilities.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The pipeline would transport oil from the Palermo Rail Facility owned by Phillips 66 to the Enbridge oil terminal in Stanley. The pipeline will have a maximum capacity of 100,000 barrels per day.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The hearing begins at 10 a.m. at the Mountrail County South Complex in Stanley.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0MINOT, N.D. (AP) &#8211; An animal shelter in Minot will begin same-day adoptions this week.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 About 700 pets are adopted through the Souris Valley Animal Shelter each year. Director Randy McDonald says he believes the shelter can increase that number to 1,000 by eliminating questionnaires and other paperwork for potential pet owners.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 McDonald\u00a0 says same-day adoptions should provide a good experience at the animal shelter and help eliminate over-breeding.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Animal shelter officials say many people who cannot adopt a pet on the same day go to a pet store to buy one.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>DEVILS LAKE, N.D.
