States Attorney, resignation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/fostercourthouse.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-31793\" alt=\"fostercourthouse\" src=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/fostercourthouse-300x225.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/fostercourthouse-300x225.jpg 300w, http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/fostercourthouse-233x175.jpg 233w, http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/fostercourthouse.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>Carrington (CSi)\u00a0 The Foster County States Attorney, Paul Murphy has handed in his resignation to the Foster County Commission.<\/p>\n<p>During the Foster County Commission meeting in Carrington on Tuesday, Chairman Josh Dreher called for Murphy\u2019s resignation, saying\u00a0 several issues prompted the call for Murphy to resign.<\/p>\n<p>Murphy stated that he\u00a0 submitted his resignation on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0A special meeting was held Wednesday evening to discuss moving the State\u2019s Attorney office into the Foster County Courthouse.<\/p>\n<div id=\"mep_1\">\n<div>\n<div>\u00a0Murphy stated that the county has become a mess, resulting in his reason for resigning.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"mep_2\">\n<div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>Murphy was elected as State\u2019s Attorney in 2002 and has been re-elected to the position numerous times. Murphy stated that he enjoyed his time serving the individuals of Foster County.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"mep_3\">\n<div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>The commission will now begin a search for a temporary State\u2019s Attorney to fill the position left open by Murphy.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>A total of six resignations were recorded in Foster\u00a0\u00a0County in December 2014 and Commissioners Bill Bauer and James Carr resigned in 2015.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0In other Foster County News&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Voters in Carrington will go to the polls on February\u00a016, 2016, \u00a0to decide on a proposed new elementary school, gymnasium and auditorium facility.<\/p>\n<p>Superintendent Brian Duchscherer says, the plan will replace the current elementary facility with a new one connected to the Middle\/High School. Designs include a cafeteria and a new multi-use gymnasium for elementary, high school, and community use as well as locker room space.
