News Dec 19, 2012) &#8212; The Jamestown Stutsman County, United Way Campaign for 2012 is at the mid-point, and has reached about 27% of the goal, or about $53,000.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday\u2019s (Dec 19, 2012) Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2, spokesperson Megan Aldinger said the figure is in line with last year\u2019s donations.<\/p>\n<p>Also on our show, Lynette Stoddart said, the kick-off event this year was excellent, with a hoop shoot, cake walk and other activities, noting a great turnout from the community, and so many wonderful sponsors who helped make the event possible.<\/p>\n<p>However, every year has posed a challenge, but officials are very hopeful the community will pull through and help the United Way to reach it\u2019s goal to give back to the community in endless ways.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0goal is a little higher this year, based on a greater need in the community, at $200,000.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday&#8217;s (Dec 21, 2012) Wayne Byers Show, United Way representatives Jessica Haak, and Connie Sova, talked about an upcoming fundraiser at Applebee&#8217;s Restaurant in Jamestown.<\/p>\n<p>The theme is &#8220;Be An All-Star,&#8221; as patrons may purchase a star, when they donate as much as they want, and the amount is added to their bill.<\/p>\n<p>The stars will be hanging around Applebee&#8217;s for the community to view.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>There are numerous other\u00a0ways to still donate, with a payroll deduction through employers, or call 952-UWAY (8929) or mail a donation to PO Box 85 Jamestown ND 58402.<\/p>\n<p>Find the United Way on facebook \u2018United Way of Stutsman County\u2019 and someone will get in touch with you about donating.<\/p>\n<p>\u3000<\/p>\n<p>United Way has 22 agencies benefiting from donations, varying across a wide variety of needs. Those include SAFE Shelter, SART, he Jamestown Arts Center, the Senior Companion program, and Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, and many more.<\/p>\n<p>\u3000<\/p>\n<p>The United Way Board is comprised of volunteers. Currently there are nearly 20 people on the board, who are listed on the Facebook page.<\/p>\n<p>Individuals who donate give varying amounts, which are all appreciated.<\/p>\n<p>A few of the major sponsors include: UTC in Jamestown , Cavendish, North Dakota State Hospital, Unison Bank, First Community Credit Union, Newman Signs and Butler Machinery.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V.
