(AP Dec 19, 2012) &#8211; Taxable sales and purchases in North Dakota during July, August and September grew nearly 23 percent compared to the third quarter of last year, to more than $6.7 billion.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Tax Commissioner Cory Fong says North Dakota&#8217;s wholesale and retail trade sectors were strong performers in the third quarter. Thirteen of 15 industries reported growth during the third quarter of 2012.\u00a0 Two sectors reported a slowdown: educational, health care and social services, and transportation and warehousing.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The western oil patch cities of New Town, Tioga and Watford City all saw large percentage increases in taxable sales over the year.<\/p>\n<p>In the area, third quarter 2012 Taxable Sales and Purchases compared to third quarter 2011.<\/p>\n<p>Stutsman County\u2026$71,496,971 up 5.07%<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown.. $68,812,573. up 5.36%<\/p>\n<p>Barnes County\u2026 $23,443,760 up 7.4%<\/p>\n<p>Valley City\u2026 $21,591,775 up 7.2%<\/p>\n<p>Foster County\u2026 $16,656,512 down 1.38%<\/p>\n<p>Carrington\u2026 $16,438,455 down 1.55%<\/p>\n<p>Others include\u2026<\/p>\n<p>LaMoure County&#8230;$12,084,685\u00a0 up 5.28%<\/p>\n<p>Dickey County\u2026$11,033,782 down 2.92%<\/p>\n<p>Griggs County\u2026$5,863,313 down 4.49%<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BISMARCK, N.D.
