Jan 30, 2016"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Rosemary Meidinger, age 86 of Valley City, ND died Jan. 30, 2016 at the Sheyenne Care Center in Valley City.\u00a0 A Funeral Mass will be celebrated\u00a0 at 11 AM Thursday Feb. 4, 2016 at St. Catherine\u2019s Catholic church with Msgr Dennis Skonseng celebrant.\u00a0 \u00a0Visitation will be from 5PM until 7 PM\u00a0 Wednesday at the Lerud-Schuldt Funeral Home with a Prayer Service beginning at 7PM.\u00a0 Interment will be in St. Catherine\u2019s Cemetery later in the spring.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Rosemary was born to William and Katherine (Diemert) Sauer on July 25, 1929 on a farm between Sanborn and Eckelson, ND, the seventh of nine children.\u00a0 She attended school through the fourth grade in Eckelson.\u00a0 Her family moved further south to rent a farm and she attended a country school close to home.\u00a0 She attended Sanborn school for only a couple of weeks and then moved to Valley City where she lived in an apartment with her sisters Kay and Joyce and attended St. Catherine\u2019s High School for three years.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>She met Albert Meidinger and they married on February 9, 1946 at St. Catherine\u2019s Church rectory in Valley City, ND.\u00a0 They purchased a home in Valley City shortly after their marriage and resided there until 2015 when they moved to the Sheyenne Care Center.\u00a0 Seven children were born from this union.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Rosemary worked many jobs during her lifetime which included soda jerk at Foss Drug, cafeteria cook at St. Catherine\u2019s School and the public school, retail sales clerk at the Fair Store and Valley Fashions where she retired at the age of 80.\u00a0 She and Albert also owned and operated Village Laundry and Cleaners (next to the Elks Club) for 10 years.\u00a0 Rosemary enjoyed her family and working with the public, as it gave her a chance to meet and visit with people.\u00a0 She was a member of St. Catherine\u2019s Church and the Ladies Division. \u00a0She always enjoyed making the turkey dressing for the Ladies Christmas event.\u00a0 Rosemary was a member of St. Catherine\u2019s parish since she was a freshman in high school.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Survivors include her husband Albert, Valley City, ND;
