Mary G. Smith, 85, Jamestown, ND died early Saturday morning May 4, 2013 at Ave Maria in Jamestown, ND.

Mary George was born September 19, 1927 at Lehr, ND, the daughter of Jacob and Emelia (Gohl) George.

She and Eugene Preuss were married December 8, 1950. They made their home in Boulder, CO where she worked at the Holiday Restaurant. She later worked as administrator of the Gackle Hospital.

She and Ray Smith were married December 25, 1971 and made their home in Minneapolis. She entered the Ave Marie Village January 17, 2011.

She was a member of the St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Jamestown, taught Sunday school at Gackle and was involved with the Stephen Ministries for 11 years in Arizona.

She is survived by her son, Rick Preuss, Aurora, CO; 11 step children, Luci Mischel, Margaret Smith, Patty Horne, Mike Smith, Paul Smith, Rose Ann Smith, Angie Kimmel, Bob Smith, Tom Smith, Rick Smith; 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 3 sisters, Erna Buchholz, Martha Trudeau, both of Jamestown, ND; Irene Rivinius, Gackle, ND; and 1 brother, Marvin George, Bridgewater, MA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, 1 daughter, Debbie, and 1 step daughter, Marty.

– 1:00 P.M. Tuesday May 14, 2013 at the Haut Funeral Chapel,

Jamestown, ND with Rev. Arlyn Coalter, officiating.
