STRONG WESTERLY WINDS WILL DEVELOP<br \/>\nOVER FAR SOUTHWESTERN NORTH DAKOTA ON TUESDAY AFTERNOON AND<br \/>\nCONTINUE TUESDAY NIGHT.<\/p>\n<p>STRONG NORTHWEST WINDS ARE FORECAST OVER WESTERN AND SOUTH<br \/>\nCENTRAL NORTH DAKOTA ON WEDNESDAY&#8230;WITH THE STRONGEST WINDS<br \/>\nSOUTH AND WEST OF THE MISSOURI RIVER.<\/p>\n<p>OVERNIGHT AND MORNING FROST WILL BE POSSIBLE BEGINNING MID-WEEK<br \/>\nAND CONTINUING THROUGH THE WEEKEND.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Update&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Valley City (Csi) The Barnes County Sheriff&#8217;s Office reports, the suspect of the East Crossing burglary has been identified.<\/p>\n<p>The sheriff&#8221;s office was seeking the public\u2019s help in identifying a man who broke into a building early Friday morning.<\/p>\n<p>The Sheriff\u2019s Office reports, charges have not been brought against the man as of Monday afternoon. Once charges are brought the man&#8217;s name will be released. Authorities say the suspect was cooperative and the sheriff&#8217;s office recovered a large amount of stolen property.<\/p>\n<p>Barnes County Chief Deputy Don Fiebiger says the man was captured on security cam video crawling through a window into the East Crossing building along Lake Ashtabula. That incident was recorded about 4:00AM on May 5th.<\/p>\n<p>Items were reportedly stolen from several locations including Bald Hill Dam Resort, East Crossing, Campground Host.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Items included those taken out of a shed and boat on a trailer near East Crossing lake homes, a maintenance shop in Bjornson Park, items from the U-S Fish Hatchery office.<\/p>\n<p>Fiebiger thanked the public for their help in identifying the suspect.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone with other details about the individual or additional break-in, is asked to contact the Barnes County Sheriff\u2019s Office at 701-845-8530 or email them at investigate@barnescounty.us.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Valley City (CSi) The IRS reports yet another phone scam in Valley City and the area.<\/p>\n<p>The scam caller says, the call is &#8220;the final notice from the Internal Revenue Service to inform you the IRS is filing a lawsuit against you and to get more information about this case call 202-341-7794.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Do not return the call\u2026 it\u2019s a scam to get personal bank account information and social security numbers to take money out of your accounts.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone receiving such a call should contact local law enforcement and report the incident.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown (CSi-JRMC)<b> <\/b>Jamestown Regional Medical Center (JRMC) was recently named one of iVantage Health Analytics\u2019 Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals (CAHs) in the United States.<\/p>\n<p>JRMC Chief Executive Officer, K.C. Learn more at iVantageHealth.com<\/p>\n<p>Washington\u00a0 (CSi) \u00a0Senators John Hoeven and Heidi Heitkamp say President Barack Obama has official signed into law legislation naming the bison as the U.S. national mammal.<\/p>\n<p>In a news release, Heitkamp&#8217;s office pointed out that the U.S. Senate unanimously passed the National Bison Legacy Act in December 2015, and the U.S. House of Representatives passed the bill this month, sending it to the President\u2019s desk to be signed into law.<\/p>\n<p>The National Bison Legacy Act recognizes the historical, cultural and economic impact that bison have had \u2013 and continue to have \u2013 in the country throughout history. (AP) &#8211; Grand Forks police say a bomb squad recovered explosives from an apartment after officers responded to an accidental shooting over the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities say a man fired a gun through the floor of an apartment about 5:30 a.m. Saturday. No one was hurt, but officers who obtained a search warrant for the apartment called in a bomb squad when they found &#8220;concerning&#8221; items.<\/p>\n<p>Police Lt. Bill Macki says the bomb squad seized several items that were determined to be explosive in nature.<\/p>\n<p>A 32-year-old man was arrested. Formal charges weren&#8217;t immediately filed.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Grand Forks police are investigating an overnight burglary at a fast food restaurant.<\/p>\n<p>Officers were called to the McDonald&#8217;s restaurant about 4:15 a.m. Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities say the burglar or burglars made a forced entry to the building and took an unknown amount of money.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; North Dakota&#8217;s Oil and Gas Division is looking into a saltwater spill in Mountrail County over the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>EOG Resources Inc. reported Saturday that 259 barrels of saltwater was released and contained, with all but 10 barrels recovered.\u00a0 A barrel holds 42 gallons. Saltwater is a byproduct of oil production.<\/p>\n<p>Equipment failure was cited as the cause of the spill at a storage tank site about 7 miles north of Parshall. And officials are now planning on how to return tens of thousands of residents to the oil sands town of Fort McMurray. The temperature there dipped to 45 degrees Monday, following a week of unseasonably warm weather.<\/p>\n<p>NORMAN, Okla. (AP) &#8211; Forecasters say a &#8220;substantial tornado risk&#8221; could develop in portions of the Southern Plains and the Ozarks. The Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma, says the region&#8217;s tornado risk will ramp up late Monday afternoon, with the potential for strong tornadoes. Hail 2 inches or more in diameter is possible from eastern Texas to southeastern Kansas. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says it inspected the ship in Baltimore last week and found 27 percent of its passengers had gotten sick since the 34-night cruise began in England last month.
