SEVERE WEATHER IS NOT EXPECTED.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0THERE IS A CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS FAR WESTERN NORTH<br \/>\n\u00a0DAKOTA SATURDAY NIGHT&#8230;THEN ACROSS THE WEST AND CENTRAL SUNDAY<br \/>\n\u00a0THROUGH WEDNESDAY.<\/p>\n<p>THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR SEVERE STORMS<br \/>\n\u00a0SATURDAY NIGHT IN THE WEST&#8230;AND ACROSS THE CENTRAL SUNDAY INTO MONDAY.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown (CSi) The Jamestown City Fire Department was called to Trinity Lutheran Church on Fourth Avenue, Southeast about 11:35 p.m. Wednesday to concerns of an odor in the building.<\/p>\n<p>Fire Department officials and Montana Dakota Utilities were called to investigate what the odor was or what is causing it.<\/p>\n<p>The fire department turned the scene over to MDU at 12:05 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>MDU was not able to detect a source of the odor, and rechecked the church including stove burners for any possible problem.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown (CSi) Jamestown Fire Department was called to a grass fire Wednesday evening about 7:30-p.m. to a field across the James River from McElroy Park.<\/p>\n<p>The units were on the scene about 15 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>The extent of the fire damage was not immediately known.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown (CSi) The Jamestown Regional Airport Authority is seeking a loan from the city of Jamestown.<\/p>\n<p>The dollars are earmarked to cover 50 percent of the cost to purchase, transport and reassemble a passenger-boarding bridge from Minot International Airport.<\/p>\n<p>The Airport Authority approved the loan request Wednesday at its regular monthly meeting.<\/p>\n<p>The Airport Authority has applied for a 70-30 grant with the North Dakota Aeronautics Commission for the project. If the NDAC approves the grant, the Aeronautic Commission would pay 70 percent of the project cost, with the Airport Authority responsible for the remaining 30 percent.<\/p>\n<p>Mayor Katie Andersen said Wednesday the Airport Authority&#8217;s Commercial Air Service Committee had come up with a total estimated project cost of $126,820 when it met Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>At a special meeting May 11th, the authority approved purchasing two used passenger-boarding bridges that Minot International Airport had put out for bid for $32,000. The authority also approved the dismantling and transportation of one bridge for a cost up to $20,100 and authorized a committee that includes Airport Authority Chairman Jim Boyd, Vice Chairman Keith Veil and Sam Seafeldt, airport manager, to review the quotes for the project and see if there was any room for lowering costs.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Carrington (CSi) The Cardinal Vote Yes committee in Carrington is working to distribute information about the upcoming special elementary school vote.<\/p>\n<p>Committee President, Dennis Freeman\u00a0says \u00a0the committee is dedicated to getting the special referendum passed.<\/p>\n<p>Carrington residents will have two questions on the ballots. The first question will approve the building to be added to the High School and needs a 60% margin to pass, the second needs 50% and is to approve or disapprove of the payment option for the school. Freeman is hopeful that they receive a voter turnout that was just as good as the first.<\/p>\n<p>Freeman says it will be an affordable addition to the community, pointing out that those who own a $100,000 home will only be required to pay $20 a month. The vote will be Tuesday, May 24th at the Carrington Elementary School Gym. Those who want to vote absentee need to contact the school for more information.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Authorities have released the names of two men killed in a shooting in Williston.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Twenty-four-year-old Diandre Lott and 23-year-old Donzell Washington were found dead of multiple gunshot wounds in an apartment complex Tuesday. Both are from out of state and didn&#8217;t live at the complex.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Police detained a man and a woman who lived in the apartment for questioning and then released them. No charges have been filed.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Police say they found three guns at the scene and believe as many as 16 shots were fired. Authorities don&#8217;t yet know the relationship between the apartment residents and the victims, and a motive remains unclear.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Sgt. Detective Amy Nickoloff says the investigation could take weeks and will be &#8220;a long and difficult process.&#8221; Police are not searching for a gunman.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>FARGO, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A Minnesota man accused of dealing large quantities of heroin in at least three states has been sentenced to 12 years in prison.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Tyrone Parker, of Sauk Centre, Minnesota, pleaded guilty last year to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute a controlled substance.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Authorities say the ring involved more than 1,000 grams of heroin that was distributed in North Dakota, Minnesota and Illinois.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The government asked for a sentence of more than 13 years in prison. Parker&#8217;s attorney argued for less than 10 1\/2 years.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0HAGATNA, Guam (AP) &#8211; The U.S. Air Force says a B-52 crashed on Guam shortly after takeoff, but all seven crew members made it out safely. No injuries were reported.<br \/>\n\u00a0The 36th Wing Public Affairs office at Andersen Air Force Base said in a statement the plane crashed about 8:30 a.m. Thursday Guam time. It crashed on the flight line at the air base.<br \/>\n\u00a0The Air Force says the bomber was deployed to Guam from Minot, North Dakota, as part of the military&#8217;s continuous bomber presence in the Pacific. It says the crew members are with the 69th Expeditionary Bomb Squadron and were performing a routine training mission.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; North Dakota&#8217;s congressional delegation says a group representing firefighters is getting a federal grant to support training.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The delegation says the North Dakota Firefighter&#8217;s Association is receiving nearly $392,000.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The money comes from the Federal Emergency Management Agency&#8217;s Assistance to Firefighters Grant program.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The delegation says the money will go toward supporting the association&#8217;s State Fire Training Academy.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>FARGO, N.D. (AP) &#8211; The public group managing a Red River diversion project around the Fargo area says it will use eminent domain to acquire property from three upstream landowners in order to start construction of the $2.1 billion channel.<br \/>\n\u00a0The Fargo-Moorhead Diversion Authority made its plans public on Monday, hours after the release of a Minnesota Department of Natural Resources environmental study that said the authority needs to addresses &#8220;serious unanswered questions&#8221; about the impact to upstream residents.<br \/>\n\u00a0A court document filed by a consultant representing the diversion authority says the group wants to obtain the titles by July 1, which is considered the deadline to begin construction this year.<br \/>\n\u00a0One of the landowners, Donald Cossette, says he is being forced to give up land that pays for his mother&#8217;s nursing home care.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>UNDERWOOD, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Construction is getting underway on a $2.1 million school expansion in Underwood.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Officials broke ground for the project on Wednesday. The 6,000-square-foot expansion will include a new main entrance, a commons area and administrative offices.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Superintendent Brandt Dick says the project is scheduled to be finished by the end of the year.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 About $55,000 of the project cost is being funded through a state oil impact grant.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) &#8211; The city of Williston is asking a judge to reject a request for an injunction against a July 1 deadline for oil field crew camps in city limits to shut down.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Target Logistics and Lodging Solutions sued the city in April, saying they&#8217;ve been treated unfairly. They maintain that the city improperly ignored requests last year to extend their workforce housing permits, instead implementing the sunset date.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The\u00a0 city in its response says the two companies have failed to make a case that harm done to them will outweigh the city&#8217;s welfare.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A hearing is set for May 31.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>DEVILS LAKE, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Tom Rime has resigned his position as administrator of the Lake Region Law Enforcement Center in Devils Lake.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Rime\u00a0says he and his wife have accepted new jobs in Brainerd, Minnesota, and the move will put him closer to family.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Law Enforcement Center has dealt with staffing issues and escapes during the past few years. (AP) &#8211; Minot residents are under water restrictions after two separate water line issues reported in the city.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Officials say one incident was a well line collapse when construction crews hit a line near the water treatment plant. The second issue is a failure at 16th and Central, north of Arrowhead.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The city is restricting excessive water usage from sprinkler systems and lawn watering.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Maintenance crews are working to resolve both issues, and the water ration will be in place until crews can effectively repair the water well lines. (AP) &#8211; Xcel Energy says it has replaced more than a mile of old underground cable in Fargo as part of an effort to help curb a spate of power outages that have bedeviled the state&#8217;s biggest city in recent weeks.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Minneapolis-based utility told North Dakota&#8217;s Public Service Commission Wednesday that it is working on plan aimed at reducing electric service problems in Fargo.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Fargo-area has had eight power outages since late April.\u00a0 Two outages were caused by defective underground cables. Other causes included lightning and animals and trees contacting overhead lines. One outage was caused by a power pole that caught fire.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The largest outage in early May left more than 5,600 customers in the dark.
