SOME STORMS<br \/>\n\u00a0COULD BE STRONG TO SEVERE\u2026ESPECIALLY OVER NORTHWEST AND NORTH<br \/>\n\u00a0CENTRAL NORTH DAKOTA.<\/p>\n<p>CHANCES FOR THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUE OVER THE AREA<\/p>\n<p>FROM SUNDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown (CSi) The Jamestown City Fire Department was called to the 200 block of 15<sup>th<\/sup> Street Southwest, at 9:53 a.m. on Thursday.\u00a0 MDU was called to the scene, with three crews, as reports indicated a strong smell of natural gas in the area.<\/p>\n<p>Reports indicate that a landscaping company was digging in the backyard of the home at 220 15<sup>th<\/sup> Street Southwest when the natural gas line was struck.<\/p>\n<p>The fire department was standing by at the scene while MDU assesses the situation and locating a shut off feeding the line.<\/p>\n<p>The homeowner was contacted to ventilate the home after the gas line was pinched off.<\/p>\n<p>Lt. Sheldon Mohr says when the all-call went out, 29 city fire fighters were at the fire station on standby with six fire fighters and two city fire units sent to the scene.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Bismarck (CSi) The North Dakota Aeronautics Commission has awarded Jamestown Regional Airport with grant dollars to fund projects.<\/p>\n<p>The Jetway Passenger Board Bridge project that totaled $126,820 was funded in a grant of $88,774, the requested amount, or 70 percent.<\/p>\n<p>The Jamestown City Council passed a\u00a0\u00a0Resolution to approve the request from Jamestown Regional Airport for a loan from the City for up to 50% of $126,000 for five (5) years for the purchase of a Jet way passenger-boarding bridge\u00a0\u00a0for the airport.<\/p>\n<p>The Terminal Secure Area Expansion was funded for $14,400, or 90-percent of the requested amount.<\/p>\n<p>Other Jamestown projects funded included:<\/p>\n<p>Wetland Reduction Phase II work at $62,500, or five percent of the total project costs.<\/p>\n<p>The Wildlife Hazard Assessment was funded at $4,500, or five percent of the total project costs.<\/p>\n<p>The West Hangar Taxilane Reconstruction at a cost of $183,000 was not funded.<\/p>\n<p>The request was for $164,700.<\/p>\n<p>The purchase of a New Operations\/Maintenance Vehicle was not funded.<\/p>\n<p>The total cost was $$40,000 with the request at $20,000.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown (CSi) The NDSU Stutsman County Extension Service office will be the location of a Livestock Risk Management workshop on Wednesday June 15, 2016. (AP) &#8211; The Highway Patrol has identified a New Salem man who died in a crash involving two pickup trucks in Morton County.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Authorities say 83-year-old Robert Slavick was driving a pickup truck that was struck by another pickup on Old Highway 10 west of Mandan on Tuesday afternoon.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Slavick&#8217;s pickup was pushed into a ravine, and he died at the scene.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The 35-year-old Mandan man driving the other pickup suffered unspecified injuries. The patrol says charges are pending against him.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>WASHINGTON (AP) &#8211; Twenty-one states are suing Delaware to give back more than $150 million in uncashed money orders. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton said Thursday the states are suing Delaware at the U.S. Supreme Court over an escalating dispute involving uncashed money orders from Dallas-based MoneyGram. The other states argue that the money should go back to the state where purchased.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; All sides of the ethanol and biofuels debate are questioning a federal agency&#8217;s proposal to boost the amount of renewable fuels blended into gasoline. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency held its only public hearing Thursday in Kansas City, Missouri, on the plan to boost output of biofuels next year and biomass-based diesel levels for 2018. Roughly 140 people were scheduled to testify. To register, call 252-4835<\/p>\n<p>Hank Biesiot, Travis Hafner, and Jocelyne and Monique Lamoureux will receive the Cliff Cushman Award as they are inducted into the North Dakota Sports Hall of Fame.<\/p>\n<p>Cliff Cushman was Grand Forks native and 1960 Olympian who gave his life in the Vietnam War.<\/p>\n<p>Hank Biesiot is a former American football player and college coach with over 200 career wins over 30 years. He was head football coach at Dickinson State university, from 1976 until his retirement in 2013.<\/p>\n<p>Travis Hafner is a former major league baseball player, retiring in 2013. Born in Jamestown, he played as a designated hitter and first basemen for the Texas Rangers, Cleveland Indians, and the New York Yankees. Hafner\u2019s career batting average was .273 with 213 home runs.<\/p>\n<p>Twin sisters Monique and Jocelyne Lamoureux are both American Ice Hockey players, born in Grand Forks.<\/p>\n<p>They were the first set of twins to ever play women\u2019s ice hockey in the Olympics. The trial for Officer Caesar Goodson began today. Capt. Martin Bartness testified that officers are required to ensure the safety of prisoners and buckle them into seat belts. Prosecutors say Goodson intentionally left Freddie Gray unbuckled and gave him a &#8220;rough ride,&#8221; and was negligent when he failed to get Gray a medic. Goodson&#8217;s defense attorney says Goodson followed the rules.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 WASHINGTON (AP) &#8211; Federal officials say they&#8217;ve ruled out requiring psychological testing for airline pilots. This, despite an air crash last year in which a German pilot deliberately flew an airliner full of passengers into a mountainside.
