Sheldon Mohr says when the all-call went out, 29 city fire fighters were at the fire station on standby with six fire fighters and two city fire units sent to the scene.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown (CSi) The <b>Stutsman County Relay for Life is Friday June 10 a<\/b>t the University of Jamestown Taylor Stadium from noon to midnight.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 The Stutsman County Relay for Life Co-Event Chairs, Chelsey Francis and Amanda Thrift on the Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2, said this year goal is to raise $100,000. So far, fundraisers throughout the year have brought in $67,000, so at least $33,000 is needed to reach this year\u2019s goal.<\/p>\n<p>Last year\u2019s goal of $90,000 was reached, so this year another roughly $27,000 would match last year\u2019s total.<\/p>\n<p>A silent auction runs from 2-p.m., to 8-p.m.<\/p>\n<p>They pointed out that on Friday, Jun 10<sup>th<\/sup>, volunteers are needed starting at 8-a.m., at UJ\u2019s Taylor Stadium to help with set up of tents, and tables, along with placing luminaries around the track.<\/p>\n<p>Help is also needed in assisting with parking in the stadium lot, and to keep the track and stadium picked up during and after the Relay.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Bismarck (CSi) The North Dakota Aeronautics Commission has awarded Jamestown Regional Airport with grant dollars to fund projects.<\/p>\n<p>The Jetway Passenger Board Bridge project that totaled $126,820 was funded in a grant of $88,774, the requested amount, or 70 percent.<\/p>\n<p>The Jamestown City Council this month passed a Resolution to approve the request from Jamestown Regional Airport for a loan from the City for up to 50% of $126,000 for five (5) years for the purchase of a Jet way passenger-boarding bridge for the airport.<\/p>\n<p>The Terminal Secure Area Expansion was funded for $14,400, or 90-percent of the requested amount.<\/p>\n<p>Other Jamestown projects funded included:<\/p>\n<p>Wetland Reduction Phase II work at $62,500, or five percent of the total project costs.<\/p>\n<p>The Wildlife Hazard Assessment was funded at $4,500, or five percent of the total project costs.<\/p>\n<p>The West Hangar Taxilane Reconstruction at a cost of $183,000 was not funded.<\/p>\n<p>The request was for $164,700.<\/p>\n<p>The purchase of a New Operations\/Maintenance Vehicle was not funded.<\/p>\n<p>The total cost was $$40,000 with the request at $20,000.<\/p>\n<p>\u3000<\/p>\n<p>JAMESTOWN, N.D. (AP) &#8211; More than 25 professional kite flyers are expected in North Dakota this weekend for the 22nd annual Jamestown Kite Festival.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 One of the founders of the festival, Mike Gee (jee),\u00a0says \u00a0the three-day outing is considered a &#8220;major event in the kiting world&#8221; and participants love coming to Jamestown.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Gee says a man from Aberdeen, South Dakota, plans to bring one of the largest kites in the country. It measures 30 by 60 feet.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The event runs Friday through Sunday. It is free and open to the public.<br \/>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; North Dakota Transportation Department Motor Vehicle and Motor Carrier offices are closing temporarily for scheduled system maintenance.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Offices in Fargo and Rugby will be closed all day on Friday. (AP) &#8211; Three people are dead after a small plane crashed south of Wishek.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Highway Patrol said the four-seat plane crashed Thursday afternoon into May Lake while en route to Bismarck.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Authorities say complications during takeoff from Wishek&#8217;s airport resulted in the crash.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The 19-year-old pilot, a 10-year-old passenger and a 39-year-old passenger suffered fatal injuries.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the crash.<\/p>\n<p>WATFORD CITY, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A Watford City man has been sentenced to serve 18 years in prison for sexually abusing two girls for nearly a decade.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Sixty-year-old Lance Foreman pleaded guilty in February to two counts of continuous sexual abuse of a child. He was sentenced this week during a hearing attended by the victims and their families.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 One of the victims is now 16. She told a social worker that the abuse began when she was 5 and lasted until she was 14.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Foreman reached a plea deal that spared him the possibility of life in prison.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Defense attorneys said Foreman was abused as a child, though he did not offer that as an excuse.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem has banned a Florida man&#8217;s sham credit card interest reduction operation from doing business in North Dakota.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Stenehjem said Thursday that Clarence &#8220;Harry&#8221; Wahl and his wife were leaving illegal pre-recorded messages with sham offers to lower consumers&#8217; credit card interest rates.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The scams have been circulating in North Dakota for years. (AP) &#8211; Bismarck Police and the Burleigh County Sheriff&#8217;s Department are billing an oil industry group more than $13,000 for overtime the agencies spent during Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump&#8217;s visit to the capital city last month. Police put in a total of 272 overtime hours and the sheriff&#8217;s department had 76 hours in overtime costs providing security for the event.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A group studying North Dakota&#8217;s criminal justice system says probation and parole officers lack the necessary resources to effectively supervise people.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Research from the Council of State Governments Justice Center shows more than 1,000 people had probation revoked in 2014, adding to the prison population and driving up costs.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A survey of probation officers found nearly one-fourth weren&#8217;t confident that they could hold people accountable.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Project manager Katie Mosehauer says North Dakota jails are too full to take people for short, punitive sanctions.
