David Swenson was placed on administrative leave with pay.<\/p>\n<p>Thompson was told of the possibility of a serious violation of Valley City Police Department policy, are of a &#8220;serious nature.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Thompson says the internal investigation of these allegations has started, adding that no details of the investigation will be released while the internal investigation is in the process of being completed.<\/p>\n<p>Swenson was <a href=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=103407\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #de030b;\">cleared of other allegations <\/span><\/a>stemming from a recent investigation.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 The Jamestown City Street Department advises motorists that beginning <u>Monday morning, July 11, 2016<\/u> roadways in and near the intersection of 3<sup>rd<\/sup> St NW &amp; 3<sup>rd<\/sup> Ave NW, between 2<sup>nd<\/sup> Ave &amp; 4<sup>th<\/sup> Ave NW will be closed to through traffic. Traffic\/Detour signage will be posted as necessary.<\/p>\n<p>The roadways affected will be reopened in approximately one week, or as soon as the utility construction is completed.<\/p>\n<p>Motorists and other traffic should use extreme caution when entering detoured areas. The public should consider alternate routes if possible.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Jamestown (CSi) The Jamestown Knights of Columbus Council 1883 is sponsoring a food drive from Saturday July 9<sup>, <\/sup>2016 to Sunday July 17<sup>th<\/sup>. They will be collecting non-perishable food items and monetary donations. All donations will be given to the Jamestown Salvation Army Food Pantry and the Community Action Region VI Food Pantry. Donations can be dropped off at St. James Basilica and at the Knights of Columbus Hall.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">The news release says, the Knights of Columbus is committed to ending hunger in local communities. Since 2012, the Knights of Columbus has donated over $8.5 million and 14.7 million pounds of food to local food pantries, community food banks and soup kitchens across the country.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">In Jamestown there is a great need for food during these summer months. Many children are on reduced and free lunch programs during the school year, and during the summer vacation these families rely on food pantries to feed their children causing a greater demand for food this time of year.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 The Annual JunKin CuZins Junkyard Expo and Fleamarket is set for Saturday July 16, 2016, from 9-a.m., to 2-p.m., at the Stutsman County Fairgrounds.<\/p>\n<p>Debbie Clemens said there is no gate admission for the public.<\/p>\n<p>She adds that this year those attending may bring a non-parishable food item to drop off at the fleamarket, which will be donated to the Community Action, Region Six Food Pantry.<\/p>\n<p>She pointed out that JunKin CuZins is six local, talented ladies who like to re-purpose, upscale, and re-do unique items and furniture.<\/p>\n<p>She said there will be lots of finished items as well as raw materials for others to re-finish.<\/p>\n<p>The Fleamarket consists of 60 vendors, offering a variety of merchandise and goods. (AP) &#8211; Minot State University and the U.S. Department of Education have reached a settlement over the school&#8217;s handling of handling of sexual abuse allegations.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The federal agency announced the settlement in connection with the years-long Title IX investigation Thursday.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The department&#8217;s Office of Civil Rights concluded the university failed to process a complaint brought by a former student who reported that during her time at the school, she had been sexually assaulted for over two years by one of her professors.\u00a0\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Title IX prohibits gender discrimination at schools that receive federal funds. (AP) &#8211; Thieves have again targeted the construction site for the new Burleigh-Morton County Detention Center.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0Copper wire has been stolen from the construction site for the second time in two months.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Police say a 600-foot roll of copper wire valued at about $900 was stolen sometime between June 24 and Wednesday. On May 10, the Bismarck Police Department was contacted after a 2,500-foot spool of copper wire went missing.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Officer Pat Renz says the cases would not be easy to solve because of the number of workers in the area and the lack of surveillance cameras.<\/p>\n<p>BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Grand Forks is ramping up its mosquito fighting campaign.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Officials say in a statement that spraying is slated for Thursday night in the city and neighboring East Grand Forks, Minnesota.\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Officials say they have identified mosquitoes and birds that tested positive for West Nile virus. The disease is transmitted by infected mosquitoes. Mosquitoes become infected when they feed on infected birds.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The state Health Department reported last week that North Dakota&#8217;s first confirmed human case of West Nile virus this year was reported in Grand Forks County.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The department last year counted 23 people who tested positive for the mosquito-borne virus. Of those, eight were hospitalized and one died.<br \/>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn. (AP) &#8211; The grandfather of the man fatally shot by police in a St. Paul suburb says his grandson was a person who stayed out of trouble.<br \/>\n\u00a0Eighty-nine-year-old Sam Castile, of St. Paul, says his grandson, Philando Castile, was a &#8220;guy who went about his business,&#8221; went to work and back home to his mother and sister.<br \/>\n\u00a0Castile was fatally shot behind the wheel of a car in Falcon Heights Wednesday night after he was pulled over by an officer from St. Anthony. Castile&#8217;s girlfriend, Diamond Reynolds and her young daughter were also in the car, but were not injured. Reynolds says she was detained by police until 5 a.m. Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>The White House says President Barack Obama is &#8220;deeply disturbed&#8221; by reports of police shootings in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and in suburban St. Paul, Minnesota. The scholarship campaign was launched by actress-writer Issa Rae. The Justice Department is investigating the killing of Sterling, a black man who police say had a gun as he wrestled with two white officers outside a Baton Rouge convenience store.
