LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WIND GUSTS<br \/>\n\u00a0WOULD BE THE PRIMARY RISKS IF SEVERE WEATHER WERE TO DEVELOP.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0OCCASIONAL CHANCES FOR THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTINUE SUNDAY THROUGH<br \/>\n\u00a0THURSDAY.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Update&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown (CSi) Repairs to a Century Link fiberoptic phone line were completed and phone services in Jamestown area restored about 8:45 pm Thursday evening.<\/p>\n<p>The cut occurred about 10-a.m. Thursday, and disrupted phone service to Jamestown, and Stutsman, Barnes, LaMoure, and Dickey counties.<\/p>\n<p>A construction crew installing a fiber line appears to have cut the CenturyLink fiber near 27th Ave NE &amp; 13th St NE (old #10) near the curve at the south end of the runway of Jamestown Regional Airport. This cut line created a variety of local phone issues as communications between some phone service subscribers were not\u00a0 available, including land line and cell phones.<\/p>\n<p>Stutsman County Emergency Manager Jerry Bergquist says:<\/p>\n<p>9-1-1 <strong>emergency<\/strong> calls worked and were being routed through State Radio and back to the LEC in Jamestown and was accessible through cell phone and land lines, from any local exchange.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Internet services for CSi Broadband were working normally.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u3000<\/p>\n<p>Bismarck\u00a0 (CSi) The North Dakota Aeronautics Commission reports another increase in Boardings at Jamestown Regional Airport.<\/p>\n<p>The reports says in June this year boardings were 999, compared to 671 in June of 2015.<\/p>\n<p>An increase of 48.8 percent.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Airline passenger numbers continue to show declining numbers in North Dakota, mainly because of lower traffic in the oil patch.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 State Aeronautics Commission data show that boardings at the eight commercial service airports in June were down nearly 12 percent from the previous year. Year-to-date boardings are down about 14 percent.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The biggest declines were 64 percent in Dickinson and 35 percent in Williston.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Fargo, Grand Forks and Minot airports also saw drops in boardings, while Bismarck, Devils Lake and Jamestown had increases.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown (CSi) The 3rd Annual Ride To Silence The Stigma is Sunday July 17, 2016 starting with registration at 11-a.m., to 12:30-p.m., at Stutsman Harley Davidson. (Free T-shirt while supplies last.)<\/p>\n<p>The three Major Sponsors include, &#8220;Stutsman Harley Davidson&#8221; &#8220;Newman Signs&#8221; and &#8220;IDK&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The &#8220;Unite to Silence the Stigma&#8221; Jamestown Chapter is holding this bike run to help raise awareness and eliminate the stigma associated with mental health issues to prevent loss to suicide.<\/p>\n<p>On The Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2, we were joined by the Chapter Chairperson Margo Haut, and chapter member Cindy Rodacker, of Jamestown<\/p>\n<p>Margo said, &#8220;Ride to Silence the Stigma&#8221; has been held for two consecutive years, in cooperation with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP).<\/p>\n<p>The organization has been able to directly donate to AFSP 50% of these funds to the national organization for research with the other 50% returned and used in the community.<\/p>\n<p>Due to the lengthy and limited approval process, the committee found it difficult to have funds come back to Jamestown, resulting in the legal formation of Unite to Silence the Stigma (UTSS), a nonprofit corporation in Jamestown. UTSS will continue to donate money to AFSP.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">Cindy pointed out that donations can be made by making checks payable to: UTSS, PO Box 623, Jamestown, ND 58402.<\/p>\n<p>In 2014 ~ the ride donated over $10,000 to AFSP.<\/p>\n<p>She \u00a0added that in 2014 over $10,000 were donated to the AFSP.<\/p>\n<p>In 2015 proceeds brought DC Faber and his post-trauma model to Jamestown<\/p>\n<p>In addition they sponsored a bench ad, donated to AFSP, and were able to promote The Out of Darkness walk.<\/p>\n<p>The money we raise this year will go toward education, awareness and future events in Jamestown that will bring mental health issues out of the darkness and into the light.<\/p>\n<p>Margo said that local mental health and suicide prevention resources are available through the South Central Human Service Center in Jamestown.<\/p>\n<p>She said that last year in North Dakota 133 live were lost in North Dakota to suicide, the ninth highest suicide rate in the nation.<\/p>\n<p>She said the veterans lives lost to suicide in the United States are about 24 per day, losing more lives than to combat deaths.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown (CSi) R.M. (AP) &#8211; A motorist accused of striking and killing a 64-year-old pedestrian in a crosswalk on Williston&#8217;s Main Street just before Christmas has pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of negligent homicide.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Twenty-two-year-old Bryan Wipf initially had faced a manslaughter charge in the Dec. 22 incident that led to the death of Lyle Forsberg.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Authorities say Wipf was driving with a suspended license and had been drinking, though his blood alcohol level was under the legal limit.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nWipf entered his plea on Thursday to the negligent homicide charge that carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison. Manslaughter carries a maximum of 10 years behind bars.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Prosecutors are recommending that Wipf be sentenced to serve two years in prison. A sentencing date was not immediately scheduled.<br \/>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0FARGO, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A Fargo woman is accused of threatening to shoot a neighbor and police officers during a night of drinking.<br \/>\n\u00a0The \u00a0incident happened Wednesday night on the city&#8217;s south side. Officers secured the neighborhood for several blocks before determining the woman was not a danger to herself of others.<br \/>\n\u00a0The woman was arrested for terrorizing and preventing arrest. She has not yet been charged.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; The North Dakota Community Foundation has set up a storm relief fund for residents of the Killdeer area, in western North Dakota.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Killdeer residents asked to use the foundation because it can react quickly to disasters.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Killdeer was inundated last weekend with a torrent of 3-inch hail stones, wind and rain.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The storm caused damage to nearly every structure in town and any vehicles not under cover.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The fund can be found online at NDCF.net\/Give\/Killdeer.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; North Dakota&#8217;s Health Department estimates legalizing marijuana for medical purposes would cost state taxpayers more than $3.5 million annually. The estimate comes after supporters of a ballot initiative campaign said they have gathered enough signatures to put the issue to a statewide vote. Fargo financial planner Rilie Ray Morgan is heading the campaign and believes the state&#8217;s figures are &#8220;grossly inflated.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; North Dakota&#8217;s Republican governor hopeful is slated to attend the GOP National Convention as a delegate.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 North Dakota GOP party executive director Roz Leighton says former Microsoft executive Doug Burgum will replace Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem at the convention next week in Cleveland.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Leighton says Stenehjem is attending the annual meeting of the Conference of Western Attorneys General in Sun Valley, Idaho.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Burgum defeated Stenehjem last month in the GOP primary for governor. Stenehjem was the GOP&#8217;s endorsed candidate for governor and was also chosen as one of the state&#8217;s 28 delegates to the national convention.
