It would be 300 megawatts, and it would be called the \u201cGlacier Ridge Wind Farm.\u201d<\/p>\n Prairie Public Radio reports the wind farm\u00a0 would be on 34,450 acres about five miles northeast of Valley City. And it would consist of up to 87 turbines.<\/p>\n North Dakota Public Service Commissioner Brian Kalk says the PSC just received the application.<\/p>\n The company wants to start construction by November. \nEnvironmental groups sued in April, alleging the meeting was held illegally. Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem had issued an opinion in March saying the council violated state law by not providing adequate notice of the meeting.
\nThe North Dakota Energy Industry Waste Coalition and the Dakota Resource Council want a judge to void the new rules allowing certain landfills to accept waste with higher levels of radioactivity.
\nThe Bismarck Tribune reports\u00a0 the council on Aug. 9 will conduct the meeting again and consider ratifying the decisions made a year ago.
\nPlaintiff’s attorney Sarah Vogel thinks the council is trying to make the lawsuit moot.<\/p>\n
