Bjerke ignored the investigator\u2019s efforts to contact him and also ignored a formal demand for information from the Attorney General\u2019s office.<\/p>\n

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – The weather’s getting hotter, but gasoline prices continue to cool off.<\/p>\n
The latest weekly report from GasBuddy.com says gas prices nationally are at their lowest level of the summer. In North Dakota, the average retail price is $2.21 a gallon. That’s more than 1 1\/2 cents lower than last week.<\/p>\n
In Fargo, gas is much cheaper than the statewide average – $2.03 a gallon.<\/p>\n
GasBuddy.com Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan says a glut of oil and refined products persists, and he expects many states with average gas prices under $2 a gallon by Halloween.<\/p>\n

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – Authorities have identified a Bismarck man who died after a crash at a Bismarck intersection involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck.<\/p>\n
Bismarck police said Monday that the motorcycle driver, 20-year-old Drew Bohlander, was pronounced dead at a hospital.<\/p>\n
Police say the collision happened about 2:40 p.m. Sunday. A passenger on the bike, 20-year-old Kelsey Nelson of Bismarck, suffered injuries that were not life-threatening.<\/p>\n
The two people in the pickup were not hurt. Bismarck police say the incident is being investigated.<\/p>\n

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) – Grand Forks police have called off the search for a person seen struggling in the Red River early Friday.<\/p>\n
The incident was reported by people fishing in the area. They told authorities that a male who had entered the river appeared to have been swept away by the current.<\/p>\n
Lt. Bill Macki\u00a0says \u00a0four days of extensive searching have turned up nothing, and police are not aware of any missing persons.<\/p>\n
Macki says there is no indication that the person failed to make it out of the river.<\/p>\n

MINOT, N.D. (AP) – A man shot by a Minot police officer two years ago is suing the officer and the city in federal court.<\/p>\n
Twenty-seven-year-old Joshua Peterson says in court documents that he’s now a paraplegic due to being shot twice by Officer Brandon Schmitt on Aug. 30, 2014. He’s seeking more than $1 million.<\/p>\n
Peterson says he was unarmed and posed no threat to the officer. He claims excessive force, battery and negligence in his civil lawsuit.<\/p>\n
Authorities say Schmitt shot Peterson and another suspect when they drove a vehicle toward him while attempting to flee. An independent investigation concluded the shooting was justified.<\/p>\n
Peterson was charged in the incident with a felony drug count and sentenced last year to serve five years in prison.<\/p>\n

Jamestown (CSi- JRMC) The Jamestown Regional Medical Foundation was thrilled to host the 6th<\/sup> Annual GOLF “fore” GOOD Tournament in support of The Journey to Oncology at JRMC. The event was held Friday, July 15 at the Jamestown Country Club with title sponsors The Davis Group and Physicians Realty Trust.<\/p>\nThe event was dedicated to those conquering cancer \u2013 with net proceeds from the event totaling over $26,000. This brings the campaign total to $400,000 dollars raised for the continued expansion of JRMC services into oncology and cancer care.<\/p>\n
JRMC is continuing progress with its Journey to Oncology by moving into the fundraising aspect of Phase Two: Service Expansion <\/i>with a focus of growing the oncology clinic and infusion service into its own space, the JRMC Foundation continues to raise funds to make this service expansion a reality.<\/p>\n
JRMC, Chief Executive Office,r K.C. Deboer, says, “Expanding JRMC services into oncology will allow our patients and region to receive cancer care closer to home. This service expansion is in line with our key belief at JRMC- to do what is best for the patient. We believe offering this service will do that for our community and patients.”<\/p>\n

Len Orr, a member of the winning gross division team says he participates at the GOLF ” Fore” GOOD every year because of the great cause and the large community participation.<\/p>\n
He says, “I know that this event supports keeping our medical services local, that is something that I think is great and want to support.”<\/p>\n
Orr has participated every year in the tournament, and says that the number of people that come make it something to look forward to.<\/p>\n
He adds, it\u2019s a great tournament with a large turnout, and the group comradery makes it a fun event to go to every year.”<\/p>\n
Over 112 golfers came out in support of the event, and winner of the tournament are as follows:<\/p>\n

PHILADELPHIA (AP) – A lot of Bernie Sanders supporters don’t seem to be receptive to his appeals for them to support Hillary Clinton. Addressing his delegates Monday, Sanders drew booing and angry chants as he called for the election of Clinton. Sanders told them that Clinton locked up the necessary delegates weeks ago. He said, “This is the real world.” And he added that electing Clinton was the way to stop Republican Donald Trump, who he described as “a bully and a demagogue,” from becoming president.<\/p>\n
PHILADELPHIA (AP) – She’s leaving her post as head of the Democratic National Committee, but Florida congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz had still planned to gavel the party’s national convention to order Monday. But that was before the leak of emails that suggested that some within the party organization favored Hillary Clinton over Bernie Sanders in the primaries. So Wasserman Schultz has now decided not to formally open the convention. She says she wants the convention to begin on a “high note.”<\/p>\n
BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) – Family and friends are pledging to follow the words of a Baton Rouge, Louisiana police officer who was killed by a gunman who targeted law enforcement. Just days before he died, Montrell Jackson wrote in a Facebook post: “Don’t let hate infect your heart.” It was a post that described the difficulties of being both a black man and a police officer. His brother invoked those words again Monday at Jackson’s funeral. Jackson was one of three law enforcement officers shot and killed a week ago.<\/p>\n
FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) – The interim Fort Myers police chief says authorities have three persons of interest in custody and they are looking for others in the slayings of two teens at a nightclub. The chief said the shooting was not an act of terrorism but he did not release a motive. The owner of the club says she hired 10 security guards to patrol a party for youths before the shooting happened.<\/p>\n
SANTA CLARITA, Calif. (AP) – Nearly 3,000 firefighters are now taking part in the battle against a dangerous wildfire burning in the mountainous northern fringe of metropolitan Los Angeles. The fire expanded wildly over the weekend, forcing thousands of people from their homes. A fire official calls conditions “explosive.” At least 18 homes have been destroyed.<\/p>\n
