PRIMARY THREATS INCLUDE VERY LARGE HAIL POSSIBLY IN<\/p>\n<p>EXCESS OF TWO INCHES IN DIAMETER\u2026IN ADDITION TO DAMAGING<\/p>\n<p>WINDS\u2026A TORNADO OR TWO AND LOCALLY HEAVY RAIN.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY<\/p>\n<p>THERE IS A CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS SUNDAY NIGHT THROUGH TUESDAY.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown (CSi) Jack Gorman and his wife Betty of Jamestown are presenting another free display of Elvis Presley memorabilia August 3-31, 2016,<br \/>\n&#8220;Elvis Has Left the Building,&#8221; at Unison Bank in Downtown Jamestown.<br \/>\nThe hours are 9-a.m. to 5-p.m., and 9-a.m. to 4-p.m. on Tuesday August 9th<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday\u2019s Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2, Jack said, thet have been working on the display the past few months, and this will be the last in Jamestown.<\/p>\n<p>Parts of their owned collection, have previously been on display in Jamestown.<\/p>\n<p>This display will include three Elvis costumes, worn by three life-sized figures, he wore in concert, with matching jewelry and sunglasses, along with a custom bathrobe, and a karate outfit.<\/p>\n<p>Included in the display will be including the black outfit known as &#8220;The Phoenix,&#8221; that Elvis wore during a 1974 concert in Reno, Nevada.<\/p>\n<p>More costumes worn by Presley, will be on display along with jewelry, including a ring that reads, &#8220;TCB&#8221; for &#8220;Taking Care of Business,&#8221; plus several other items.<\/p>\n<p>For sale items include Elvis photos, bumper stickers, CDs and salt and pepper shakers.<\/p>\n<p>Gorman has photos of the singer taken by him at concerts he attended, 451, in all.<\/p>\n<p>The display includes Elvis\u2019s career, from early on, with Sun Records, to his time in the Army, and then starring in films, and continues into his resurgence as a singer.<br \/>\nThere is also videos playing including Grace Land tours, and concerts.<\/p>\n<p>Gorman will pass along stories he has about Elvis while visiting with those looking at the display.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown (CSi) Disabled veterans are invited to participate in hunting, including deer in North Dakota this fall.<\/p>\n<p>Stutsman County Veterans Service Office, David Bratton on Wednesday\u2019s Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2, said, slots are still available at last report, for the 2016 Camp Grafton Disable Deer Hunt, set for November 7, 8, 2016.<br \/>\nHe said the deadline to register is at the end of August, adding that his office has applications.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile the Wounded Warrior Guide Service is offering a Canadian Goose Hunt in Bismarck August 19th and 20th.<br \/>\nTo register call 701-721-8927.<\/p>\n<p>Those interested in hunting gators in Florida, can get their names into a lottery drawing. The hunt is planned for September 3-10, 2016.<br \/>\nBratton\u2019s office has more information.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) \u2014 North Dakota&#8217;s Senate has unanimously endorsed a measure to address a $310 million shortfall in the state budget.<\/p>\n<p>Senators voted 46-0 Wednesday during a special session of the Legislature to further cuts to government agencies, take profits from North Dakota&#8217;s state-owned bank and exhaust what&#8217;s left of a rainy day fund to make up the shortfall.<\/p>\n<p>Republican Gov. Jack Dalrymple and GOP legislative leaders are pushing the measure, which now heads to the House.<\/p>\n<p>Attempts by Democrats to amend the measure to restore some funding for social programs and property tax relief failed in the GOP-controlled Senate.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) \u2014 Bismarck police are investigating the armed robbery of a convenience store.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities say a male walked into the Loaf &amp; Jug store about 12:40 a.m. Wednesday, displayed a handgun and demanded money.<\/p>\n<p>The suspect fled on foot with an undetermined amount of cash. No injuries were reported.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) \u2014 Charges are pending against a 40-year-old Bismarck man after a toddler was rescued from an apartment complex swimming pool.<\/p>\n<p>Police say the man was caring for an 18-month-old boy who fell into the water Tuesday night, and did not immediately come to the boy&#8217;s rescue when he saw him struggling.<\/p>\n<p>After finally pulling the boy from the water, the man allegedly let the limp child fall over and strike his head on concrete.<\/p>\n<p>The boy was hospitalized in intensive care. His condition wasn&#8217;t known. The man was arrested for child neglect.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities say the incident was captured by surveillance video at the pool.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>AUSTIN, Texas (AP) \u2014 Texas has reached a deal on weakening its voter ID law as federal courts across the U.S. block states from using Republican-imposed election restrictions in November. The proposed agreement Wednesday comes after a federal appeals court ruled that Texas&#8217; strict voter ID law passed in 2011 discriminates against minorities and the poor.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>FARGO, N.D. (AP) \u2014 A judge has dismissed charges against a Department of Human Services lawyer who was among five people in the agency accused of impeding an investigation into the drowning death of a child. Former agency attorney Julie Leer was charged with conspiracy to obstruct a government function and refusing to perform a public duty. The head of the agency, Maggie Anderson, is facing the same charges.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) \u2014 Companies building an oil pipeline from North Dakota across the Midwest into Texas say they&#8217;ve completed project financing and sold a share of the pipeline to another company to pay down the debt.<\/p>\n<p>Energy Transfer Partners, Sunoco Logistics Partners and Phillips 66 said Tuesday they completed borrowing the remaining $2.5 billion needed to complete the Bakken Pipeline project.<\/p>\n<p>The project includes the $3.7 billion Dakota Access Pipeline to carry oil from North Dakota to Illinois. A second leg, the $1 billion Energy Transfer Crude Oil Pipeline, will carry oil from Illinois to Texas terminals.<\/p>\n<p>The companies say they&#8217;ve sold nearly 37 percent of the project to Enbridge Energy Partners and Marathon Petroleum Corp. The $2 billion cash from that deal will help pay down the project debt.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) \u2014 Two more North Dakota properties have been listed on the National Register of Historic Places.<\/p>\n<p>The register is the federal government&#8217;s list of properties it deems worthy of recognition and preservation.<\/p>\n<p>The State Historical Society says the commercial Creaser Building constructed in 1916 in Williston was nominated for its distinct brick architecture.<\/p>\n<p>The society says St. Michael&#8217;s Parochial School in Grand Forks shows the transition from early 20th century school architecture to mid-century modernist architecture. The original school was built in 1916, with a youth center and connecting addition added in the late 1940s and early 1950s.<br \/>\nIn sports\u2026<br \/>\nJamestown (CSi) University of Jamestown men&#8217;s basketball coach Danny Neville announces the signings of Aaron Peterson and Kiwane Crowder, who will join the Jimmies in the 2016-17 season.<\/p>\n<p>Peterson attended Brookhaven College in Texas, his freshman season, then played last season at Missouri Valley. Peterson, a 6\u20199\u201d center, averaged 7 points and 5 rebounds in 2015-16. Aaron is originally from New Boston, Texas.<\/p>\n<p>Coach Neville says, \u201cAaron is a guy we needed for this year. At 6\u20199&#8243; he will help us in a variety of ways. He is a freak athlete and a team-first guy. We expect some big things from him this season.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Crowder, a 6\u20192\u201d junior college transfer, averaged 10.9 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game while playing at Joliet College. Crowder shot 40% from three-point range and 83% from the free throw line. As a freshman, Kiwane attended Mesabi Range Junior College, averaging 15.4 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game. He is originally from Milwaukee, Wis.<\/p>\n<p>Coach Neville says, \u201cKiwane is exactly what we needed in a guard. He can defend at a high level and rebounds really well at the guard spot. (AP) \u2014 A Washington, D.C.-area transit police officer charged with attempting to support the Islamic State group has made his initial appearance in court. Nicholas Young appeared Wednesday in federal court in Alexandria, Virginia. The FBI says Young is the first law enforcement officer in the U.S. to be charged under the federal government&#8217;s terrorism law. Court documents say Young bought nearly $250 in gift cards he intended for the Islamic State to use to purchase mobile messaging apps.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>NEW YORK (AP) \u2014 Even though Donald Trump is refusing to endorse House Speaker Paul Ryan in his primary race in Wisconsin, Trump&#8217;s running mate Mike Pence isn&#8217;t withholding his support. Pence told Fox News that he&#8217;s pleased to endorse Ryan. He says Trump &#8220;strongly encouraged&#8221; him to do so. The move comes a day after Trump said in an interview that he&#8217;s &#8220;just not quite there yet&#8221; when it comes to backing Ryan, who has at times been critical of Trump&#8217;s most controversial comments.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>WASHINGTON (AP) \u2014 Donald Trump may soon get an earful from top Republicans who are concerned about the way he&#8217;s approaching his presidential bid. According to a Republican official, GOP chief Reince Priebus (ryns PREE&#8217;-bus) and other well-respected Republicans may confront Trump in the days ahead. Priebus has already been speaking with campaign chairman Paul Manafort and the billionaire&#8217;s children, who are said to agree that Trump needs to stop picking fights within his own party and back off his criticism of the family of a slain soldier.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>WASHINGTON (AP) \u2014 The Obama administration is warning Congress that money to fight the Zika virus is on the verge of running out amid political stalemate on Capitol Hill. In a letter to key lawmakers, the secretary of Health and Human Services said the National Institutes of Health will run out of money for vaccine development by month&#8217;s end. The news comes as the first local transmissions of the virus have been found in Miami and authorities are warning pregnant women to stay away from the area. The virus can cause severe birth defects.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) \u2014 The owners of the Trump Taj Mahal casino in Atlantic City say they will shut it down after Labor Day weekend due to an ongoing strike by union members. The announcement comes a day before the walkout will reach its 35th day &#8212; becoming the longest in the 38-year history of Atlantic City&#8217;s casino era. Donald Trump opened the casino in 1990, but it now belongs to the Republican presidential nominee&#8217;s friend Carl Icahn (EYE&#8217;-kahn).
