Jamestown (CSi)\u00a0 The North Dakota Aeronautics Commission reports, Jamestown Regional Airport\u2019s boardings for July this year were at 1,266.<\/p>\n

That compares to 872 boardings in July 2015, 652 in July of 2014, and 247 in July of 2013.<\/p>\n

Jamestown (CSi)\u00a0 Jamestown Public School District Superintendent Robert Lech has been elected to a three year term on the governing board of the American Association of School Administrators.<\/p>\n

He has the opportunity to serve a total of two terms.<\/p>\n

Lech replaces Steve Hall, superintendent in Kindred School District.\u00a0 He was \u00a0elected by the North Dakota Association of School Administrators. \u00a0Lech served as the NDASA president for the 2014-2015 school year.<\/p>\n

Lech joins Superintendent Jeff Lind of the Mandan School District as the second North Dakota representatives on the governing board.<\/p>\n

Founded in 1865 the AASA is a professional association of more than 13,000 educational leaders in the United States and around the world with a headquarters is in Alexandria, Va. It\u2019s mission, according to the AASA website, is to improve quality public education for all students and to develop and support school system leaders.<\/p>\n

STANLEY, N.D<\/span>. (AP) \u2014 The Highway Patrol has identified a 55-year-old Florida man who died in a vehicle crash in the western North Dakota oil patch.<\/p>\n

Authorities say Eugene Reider, of Ormond Beach, Florida, was killed about midday Friday when he lost control of his car on state Highway 8 in Mountrail County. The car went in the ditch, hit a culvert and overturned, landing on its top.<\/p>\n

Reider was alone in the vehicle.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) \u2014 Authorities have added 20 new charges against a deputy U.S. marshal in Bismarck accused of using a cellphone camera to record under the doors of changing rooms at department stores. Michael Rivera was originally charged in June with one felony count. Prosecutor Julie Lawyer says the state has since collected additional evidence, including hundreds of images of child sexual exploitation on Rivera’s computer.<\/span><\/p>\n

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) \u2014 North Dakota State University President Dean Bresciani says some text messages he sent regarding now-rescinded media guidelines for covering Bison athletics were “not appropriate.”<\/p>\n

Bresciani in a campus-wide email Monday also continued to maintain that he wasn’t consulted on the guidelines that were roundly criticized by journalists and on social media before NDSU scrapped them.<\/p>\n

Text messages from Bresciani to Athletic Director Matt Larsen that were obtained by blogger Rob Port appeared to contradict Bresciani’s Aug. 2 statement that he was “profoundly disappointed” when he learned about the guidelines.<\/p>\n

Bresciani in his email acknowledged initially supporting the guidelines but added he came to realize his understanding of them “was not accurate” and that “my initial support was misplaced.”<\/p>\n

State Legislature Higher Education Committee Chairman Mark Sanford calls the controversy “unfortunate.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

DETROIT (AP) \u2014 Donald Trump is unveiling a revamped economic plan. The Republican nominee tells the Detroit Economic club his plan is the polar opposite of Hillary Clinton’s. He suggests lowering the tax on businesses to 15 percent — a major drop from the current corporate tax rate of 35 percent. Trump also says he wants to simplify the tax code by reducing the number of tax brackets from seven to three.<\/p>\n

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) \u2014 Authorities are conducting an autopsy on a 10-year-old boy killed on a Kansas waterslide billed as the world’s largest. But the Wyandotte County coroner’s office says it’s unclear whether the autopsy results will be publicly released. Investigators have been treating Caleb Schwab’s death as a “civil matter” rather than a criminal incident. They’ve released few details about what happened.<\/p>\n

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (AP) \u2014 A federal judge seems inclined to let a legal challenge continue over a North Carolina law that lets magistrates refuse to marry same-sex couples. But that’s only if those suing prove they have a right to do so. At a hearing Monday, the judge considered a motion by the state to dismiss the lawsuit filed by three couples. He also indicated that he wouldn’t allow Republican legislative leaders and some magistrates to be added to the suit as defendants.<\/p>\n

QUETTA, Pakistan (AP) \u2014 Authorities say a suicide bomber has killed at least 67 people in an attack that struck a government-run hospital in the southwestern Pakistan. Dozens more were hurt in the bombing in Quetta (KWEH’-tuh). A breakaway faction of the Taliban has claimed responsibility.<\/p>\n

BEIRUT (AP) \u2014Doctors Without Borders says a hospital it supports in rebel-held northern Syria has been destroyed by airstrikes. The group says a pair of weekend strikes hit the hospital directly, killing five children and 8 others. Hospitals, mostly in rebel-held areas, are regularly attacked. More than 40 attacks were reported in July alone.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
