The event honors fallen and KIA soldiers, and there families.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s theme is: &#8220;Not Without Honor: They Served, They Defended Freedom.<\/p>\n<p>On the Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2, local organizers, Ride Captain\u00a0 George Quigley and Shelly Grotrian were on hand with updates on the event.<\/p>\n<p>George said the activities start on Friday the 12<sup>th<\/sup> at the Civic Center with the Fallen Heroes Memorial Steak Fry at at 6-p.m. The social hour is at 5-p.m., when the doors open.<\/p>\n<p>At the Steak Fry is the chance to win $2,500 in cash prizes. Tickets are $25.<\/p>\n<p>The North Dakota National Guard, 188<sup>th<\/sup> Army Band will perform from 7-p.m., to 10-p.m.<\/p>\n<p>There will be a cash bar all evening. Must be 21 years of age or older, to enter the designated alcohol sales premises.<\/p>\n<p>On Saturday August 13<sup>th<\/sup>, at 10-a.m., is the North Dakota Patriot Guard Memorial Program and Honor Ride.<\/p>\n<p>Ahead of that at 7-a.m. to 10-a.m., is the Pancake Breakfast Feed, for a free will offering, sponsored by the CMA.<\/p>\n<p>10 a.m., to noon is the Honor Ride Registration, at $10 per person.<\/p>\n<p>At noon, the Memorial Program and presentation to Gold Star Families of Fallen Soldiers.<\/p>\n<p>The Scheduled speaker is D.C. Faber, \u00a0a retired Army officer who created a post-trauma assessment model for soldiers. Faber will have a booth set up before the memorial so people may talk to him.<\/p>\n<p>1:15-p.m., the Honor Ride leaves from the Civic Center.<\/p>\n<p>The ride heads to the Jamestown Dam, then on to Spiritwood, then Buchanan and Pingree and then to\u00a0 Medina, before heading back to the Jamestown Civic Center.<\/p>\n<p>5:30-p.m., a free meal to The Honor Ride Participants, and Gold Star Families.<\/p>\n<p>Again there will be a cash bar all evening.\u00a0 \u00a0Must be 21 years of age or older to enter the designated alcohol premises.<\/p>\n<p>George pointed out that there has been excellent community support for the Memorial and Honor Ride, including grant dollars from Jamestown Tourism.<\/p>\n<p>He added that it\u2019s hoped to have more participants from Minnesota this year.<\/p>\n<p>There will be a Silent Auction and Raffle, and about seven vendors will have information including Service Dogs for America, and their work with the Wounded Warriors program.<\/p>\n<p>Also on hand will be the Fargo VA veterans outreach van with information.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 The Frontier Village hosts the annual Pioneer Days this weekend.<\/p>\n<p>It will be on Saturday \u00a0from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and \u00a0from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., on Sunday, free of charge. Again there will be food, old-fashioned ice cream, arts and crafts and a reduced fee for the \u00a0stagecoach rides and a pony ring.<\/p>\n<p>Frontier Village Manager Nichole Mosolf, says activities include being able to watch the work and activities that took place during that time.<\/p>\n<p>Demonstrations both days include cooking food in a Dutch oven, blacksmiths making tools and implements, and a Morse code telegraph expert.<\/p>\n<p>The Wild West Shootout is Saturday from 3 to 4 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>The Williams &amp; Ree comedy and singing duo will have two performances at the Frontier Village Amphitheater at 1-p.m. and 4-p.m.\u00a0 Tickets are $20 at the gate, general admission seating.<\/p>\n<p>Proceeds will go to the Frontier Village operations.<\/p>\n<p>On Sunday, events start with a 9:30 a.m. nondenominational service at Pioneer Church with the service is provided by Prairie Ministry Service.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Valley City\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0\u00a0 Valley City Police Chief Fred Thompson reports the department\u00a0 investigating a number of thefts.<\/p>\n<p>In one case police are investigating a lawn mower theft from a residence Wednesday morning in the 800 block of 8th Street Northwest, at an out building.<\/p>\n<p>Later an officer found the mower observed in a van.<\/p>\n<p>More items were found in the van that was impounded\u00a0 at the Valley City Police Department which is purportedly owned by a female, a person of interest who has had an arrest warrant issued on the charges of two counts of theft from a motor vehicle, with additional charges pending.<\/p>\n<p>Police is asking for any information from the public by calling 701-845-3110 as the investigation continues.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Bismarck\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 The North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) \u00a0reported Thursday afternoon \u00a0that water has receded from the roadway on ND Hwy 11, approximately 14 miles west of Ellendale. (AP) \u2014 A Williston man accused of vandalizing a company that fired him, threatening top company officials with a gun and then threatening police during a standoff at his home has pleaded guilty under a deal with prosecutors.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities say Stacey Ashinhurst in July 2015 used a power saw to cut computer cords and cables at Knife River Corp., pointed a handgun at the general manager at the business and fired a shot into the air near police officers at his home.<\/p>\n<p>Ashinhurst was facing five felony charges including terrorizing that carried a maximum total punishment of 30 years in prison. The Williston Herald reports that under the plea agreement, he will serve a total of five years, with credit for a little more than a year already served.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p>BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) \u2014 A man is facing federal drug and weapons charges in North Dakota.<\/p>\n<p>Vernon Pook Jr. is charged with conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance, possession of a stolen firearm, and discharge of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. He has pleaded not guilty.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities say Pook has been moving marijuana from another state to North Dakota within the last few months. He was arrested Monday in Washburn.<\/p>\n<p>Trial is scheduled for Oct. 4.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) \u2014 North Dakota health officials say abortions fell last year to the lowest level since record-keeping began in 1981.<\/p>\n<p>Health Department data showed 1,166 abortions, down a little less than 1 percent from 1,264 a year earlier.<\/p>\n<p>The previous low was 1,182 in 2013.<\/p>\n<p>Red River Women&#8217;s Clinic director Tammi Kromenaker says the drop mirrors nationwide trends and is due to more effective birth-control options and increased insurance coverage under the federal Affordable Care Act. The Red River clinic in Fargo is the state&#8217;s only abortion provider.<\/p>\n<p>North Dakota women accounted for 822 of last year&#8217;s total. Minnesota women had 280 abortions in North Dakota, followed by 55 from South Dakota and nine from other states.<br \/>\nBISMARCK, N.D. (AP) \u2014 Authorities in North Dakota have arrested a dozen people protesting the $3.8 billion Dakota Access Pipeline.<\/p>\n<p>Morton County Sheriff Kyle Kirchmeier said the 12 arrests as of Thursday evening were for disorderly conduct or criminal trespass.<\/p>\n<p>He says some protesters encroached on a zone established for workers&#8217; safety. Those arrested were brought to the Morton County Correctional Center.<\/p>\n<p>The pipeline would start in North Dakota and pass through South Dakota and Iowa before ending in Illinois.<\/p>\n<p>Native Americans have been staging a nonviolent protest for months at a &#8220;spirit camp&#8221; established by the Standing Rock Sioux at the confluence of the Cannonball and Missouri rivers. The tribe has sued federal regulators for approving the pipeline.<\/p>\n<p>Tribal member LaDonna Brave Bull Allard says roughly 200 people are protesting.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>MINOT, N.D. (AP) \u2014 A convicted sex offender who was arrested after getting a job as an Easter bunny at a Minot mall has pleaded not guilty to failing to register.<\/p>\n<p>Twenty-four-year-old Minot resident Daniel Sanderson is barred from working with children as a condition of probation he received after pleading guilty last year to exposing himself to a girl at a hotel. Authorities allege he got the Easter bunny job last March.<\/p>\n<p>Sanderson on Thursday waived his preliminary court hearing and pleaded not guilty to the felony charges that could send him to prison for up to 10 years.<\/p>\n<p>A trial date was not immediately set. (AP) \u2014 Farm real estate in North Dakota is worth less than it was last year.<\/p>\n<p>A new report from the federal Agriculture Department says the value of farm real estate in the state averages $1,830 per acre, a drop of $90 per acre from last year.<\/p>\n<p>Cropland value in North Dakota is down $140, to an average of $2,000 per acre. Pastureland has dropped $20, to $830 per acre.<\/p>\n<p>Cash rents are mixed, with irrigated cropland rent up $5, to $166 per acre, and non-irrigated cropland down $1, to an average of $67 per acre. (AP) \u2014 Police say a Florida woman is in custody after her young son beat his newborn sister to death. News outlets report 62-year-old Kathleen Marie Steele was arrested yesterday on an aggravated manslaughter of a child charge.
