\nThe VCSU volleyball program will be hosting a scrimmage day on Saturday, Aug. 20, at the W.E. Osmon Fieldhouse. Six different teams will be on campus to play scrimmages against each other.<\/p>\n
Football season opener set for Aug. 25<\/b>

The VCSU football team is set to open the 2016 season at home against rival University of Jamestown next week. The Vikings host the Jimmies on Thursday at 7 p.m. Tailgating will open at 5 p.m. and will once again feature the Nodak Mutual Fan Zone with games for kids of all ages.<\/p>\n
VCSU adds new coaches<\/b>
\nThe VCSU athletic department has added several new coaches over the last month. Ryan Montgomery<\/i> has taken over as head men\u2019s basketball coach for the Vikings. He is assisted by new hire Karl Sorby<\/i>. Courtney Titus<\/i> has been appointed assistant women\u2019s basketball coach for this season.<\/p>\n
Erik Matth<\/i> is an addition to the football staff as an assistant coach, and Joshua Mower<\/i> and Joseph Marini<\/i> have joined the track and cross country programs as graduate assistants.<\/p>\n
In athletic training, Heather Bates<\/i> is the new assistant athletic trainer, and Jay Determan<\/i> has joined the staff as a graduate assistant.<\/p>\n
