BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) \u2014 A North Dakota teacher has claimed a $100,000 Powerball prize.<\/p>\n

North Dakota lottery officials say Grand Forks resident Ruth Pederson claimed her prize Tuesday. Pederson matched four white balls and the Powerball in Saturday’s drawing to win the game’s $50,000 prize. An option she purchased doubled the amount.<\/p>\n

Pederson says she realized she had won the $100,000 Monday, the same day classes began at her school. She says “it was the perfect start to the school year.”<\/p>\n

Powerball is played in 44 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The jackpot sits at $154 million for the next drawing, on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

State lottery officials say the ticket matched four white balls and the Powerball in Saturday’s drawing to win the game’s $50,000 prize, and an option that was purchased doubled the amount.<\/p>\n

The winning numbers were 4, 32, 48, 49, 63, and the Powerball was 20.<\/p>\n

The winner has about six months to claim the prize.<\/p>\n
