News) &#8212; The Barnes County Municipal Airport in Valley City is hosting the &#8220;Wings &amp; Wheels Airshow,&#8221; Saturday September 8, 2012.<\/p>\n<p>On The Wayne Byers Show, on CSi Cable 2, Airshow Co-Director, Lori Jury said in addition to aerobatic entertainment, the event will feature the Bridge City Cruisers Classic Car Show &amp; Shine.<\/p>\n<p>There will also be military and static aircraft displays, plus, and evening outdoor bbq dinner served.<\/p>\n<p>Plans include a fireworks display, and entertainment by the band &#8220;Past Due.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>On site concessions will also be available.<\/p>\n<p>The airshow is being dedicated to the memory of local aviators Larry Lindemann and Bob Beyer.<\/p>\n<p>Lindemann served as the manager of the Barnes County Municipal Airport for 27 years from 1985-2012. He passed away March 17, 2012.<\/p>\n<p>Beyer was appointed to the Barnes County Municipal Airport Authority in 1976, serving as chairman for eight years.<\/p>\n<p>He retired in 2009, and passed away in 2011. Beyer was instrumental in securing funding for and implemented many ideas for development of the local airport.<\/p>\n<p>Aircraft performers include\u2026Matt Younkin, Jim &#8220;Fang&#8221; Maroney, Warren Pietsch, Toby McPherson, Rex Hammarback, and Jarrod and Paul Lindemann.<\/p>\n<p>Barnes County Airport Authority Chairman, Denny Helland said there will be an after dark performance.<\/p>\n<p>On Sunday September 9<sup>th<\/sup> there will be a breakfast at the Barnes County Municipal Airport from 8-a.m. until noon, and a 9:30-a.m. worship Service.<\/p>\n<p>The breakfast proceeds will benefit the Experimental Aircraft Association, Chapter 317 in Fargo.<\/p>\n<p>More information on line at<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.barnescountyairport.com\/\"><strong>http:\/\/www.barnescountyairport.com\/<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V.News Jul 20, 2012)\u00a0 \u2013\u00a0 The late Reese Hawkins will be rembered with a plaque dedicated to him, to be placed at Frontier Village in Jamestown.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0 memorial plaque\u00a0 to be created, will fittingly be placed at the Louis L\u2019Amour Writers Shack, at Frontier Village, a place where Reese spent a great deal of his retirement, promoting Jamestown, and North Dakota.<\/p>\n<p>Reese passed away on\u00a0 June 23, 2012 at the\u00a0 age of 96. His wife Margaret went on ahead of Reese four years prior\u00a0 at the\u00a0 age of 91.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Bismarck ND\u00a0 (KCSi-T.V. News)\u00a0 \u2013\u00a0 The North Dakota Highway Patrol<\/p>\n<p>Reports,\u00a0a\u00a040-year-old Bismarck man died Friday night, (Jul 20, 2012<\/p>\n<p>about 9:25, \u00a0when the pickup he was driving rolled after he swerved to miss<\/p>\n<p>deer.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0The report says, Brian Lee Sumner was eastbound on the gravel<\/p>\n<p>roadway\u00a0on Highway 10 about\u00a0three and a half\u00a0miles east of Steele.<\/p>\n<p>The patrol says, \u00a0Sumner apparently lost control of the 1997<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0GMC Sonoma pickup after swerving to miss the animals.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0The pickup rolled two to three times and came to rest on<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0its passenger side in the north ditch.<\/p>\n<p>Sumner and his passengers, 47 year old Kerrie Vester, of, Tappen<\/p>\n<p>and a 9-year-old girl, of Tappen, were not wearing<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0seat belts and were ejected from the pickup.<\/p>\n<p>Sumner died at the scene.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The passengers were injured and were<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0transported to a Bismarck hospital.<\/p>\n<p>The pickup was totaled.<\/p>\n<p>The accident remains\u00a0is under investigation.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p>BISMARCK, N.D. \u2013 Governor Jack Dalrymple\u00a0 has asked that all U.S. and North Dakota flags be flown at <strong>half-staff<\/strong> until sunset Wednesday, July 25 in tribute to the victims of the deadly mass shooting in Aurora, Colo.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt the President\u2019s request and out of respect for the victims of the senseless act of violence in Aurora, I ask that U.S. and North Dakota flags be flown at half-staff until sunset Wednesday,\u201d Dalrymple said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur thoughts and prayers are with the families of those lost and injured in this terrible tragedy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>President Obama has ordered that U.S. flags on government grounds be flown at half-staff through sunset Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Bismarck police are investigating the<br \/>\ntheft of a pickup that was later found in the Little Heart River in<br \/>\nMorton County.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Police say the pickup was stolen from the parking lot of a downtown Bismarck bar on Thursday night.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Morton County Sheriff Dave Shipman says someone checking<br \/>\nirrigation pumps on the Little Heart River, about 10 miles south of<br \/>\nsaw the back end of a vehicle sticking out of the river and called<br \/>\nauthorities.<br \/>\nThepickup was pulled from the river.<\/p>\n<p>Detectives are investigating the incident.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Bond has been set at $2,000 for a Bismarck<br \/>\nman accused of trying to break into several homes.<br \/>\n21-year-old Robert Joseph Ferguson was charged Friday with felony charges of burglary and criminal attempt.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Bismarck police say residents of a home on reported they heard<br \/>\nbanging outside the kitchen window, followed by the sound of the<br \/>\nwindow shattering at 1:49 a.m. Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Someone also had kicked at the exterior garage door at the home.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Police say officers heard the sound of glass breaking and found<br \/>\nFerguson in the backyard of a nearby home. Ferguson had blood on<br \/>\nhis clothes and was missing a shoe.<\/p>\n<p>Officers found additional damage to a shed and a garage at the home where Ferguson was found.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Ferguson was treated at a local hospital for his injuries before<br \/>\nbeing taken to the Burleigh County jail.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Home improvement retailers in Grand<br \/>\nForks increasingly are catering to Canadians as shoppers are coming<br \/>\nover the border seeking bargains.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The\u00a0 demand for home improvement goods is based in part on prices, which are usually lower in the United States because of Canada&#8217;s higher<br \/>\ntax rates.<\/p>\n<p>But it also is based on the selection of retailers and a building boom in Manitoba.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Manitoba Home Builders&#8217; Association.president Mike Moore says<br \/>\nhome construction in Winnipeg last year was the highest in 25<br \/>\nyears. (AP) &#8211; Land developers in Fargo are asking for a new<br \/>\ntype of liquor license they say will level the playing field with<br \/>\ncheaper alternatives in neighboring West Fargo.<\/p>\n<p>Developers lobbied last week for a modified food and alcohol license that<br \/>\nwould drop start-up fees.<\/p>\n<p>The license would be usable only in a mile-wide corridor that marks the border with West Fargo.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Fargo has a $100,000 issuance fee for the license used by<br \/>\nrestaurants that serve alcohol at a bar.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 West Fargo has no issuance fee for a similar license.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 City officials say they&#8217;ll study the matter. (AP) &#8211; The chairman of a North Dakota legislative<br \/>\ncommittee that reviews higher education spending says the<br \/>\nuniversity system&#8217;s requests for more employees are going to get<br \/>\ntough scrutiny.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 New chancellor Ham Shirvani (shur-VAN&#8217;-ee) is asking for 30 new<br \/>\nstaffers in the North Dakota university system&#8217;s central office.<br \/>\nThat would double the existing staff.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Shirvani says the people are needed to provide meaningful<br \/>\noversight of the system&#8217;s operations.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Tioga Rep. In baseball he was named all conference three years and was a team captain his senior year.<\/p>\n<p>Derek Holm is the son of Roxy Holm. He plans to major in exercise science at Jamestown College.<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown College head men\u2019s wrestling coach C.J. Campbell announces Ian Overton of Vancouver, Wash., has signed a Letter of Intent to enroll at Jamestown College this year and compete in wrestling for the Jimmies.<\/p>\n<p>Overton graduated from Heritage High school where he was the wrestling team captain for two years and was named &#8220;Most Inspirational&#8221; and &#8220;Most Improved.&#8221; Overton was a two time state participant, the 4A district champion and placed 2<sup>nd<\/sup> in Clark County.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I am glad to have signed Ian Overton to the Jamestown College Wrestling Program,&#8221; said Campbell. &#8220;He will bring in some much needed depth to our heavyweight line-up.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u3000<\/p>\n<p>ST. LOUIS (AP) &#8211; The St. Louis Blues have signed forward T.J. Oshie to a five-year contract.<\/p>\n<p>Terms were not disclosed but the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that the deal is worth nearly $21 million.<\/p>\n<p>At 25, Oshie is among many young up-and-coming players for the Blues. He tied for the team lead with 54 points in 2011-12. He was third in goals with 19 and second in assists with 35.
