(AP) \u2014 Federal court documents show that a North Dakota man who has been embroiled in a long legal battle with the state over a confiscated pay loader should receive $20,000 in a civil lawsuit.<\/p>\n<p>The loader was seized by a state Bureau of Criminal Investigation agent in May 2014 from Darrell Schrum\u2019s shop in Forbes after it was found to be stolen. Schrum has argued that he didn\u2019t know the loader was stolen and bought it in good faith. The equipment was lost in transit.<\/p>\n<p>Schrum turned to federal court after the North Dakota Supreme Court reversed a state judge\u2019s decision that Schrum be paid nearly $54,000 for the loader.<\/p>\n<p>Schrum\u2019s attorneys say the $20,000 award compensates Schrum for the purchase price, repairs and transport costs of the loader.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>FARGO, N.D.
