Fireworks may be used or detonated \u00a0on the twenty-sixth day of December through the first day of January. The use of or detonation of any fireworks from 11:00 P.M. to 12:00 P.M. (noon) is prohibited within the City of Jamestown.<\/p>\n

(VCSU-CSi) \u2013 V<\/p>\n FARGO, N.D. (AP) \u2014 A 31-year-old man has been charged with murder in the Christmas Eve stabbing death of another man in a south Fargo home.<\/p>\n Court documents accuse Timothy Porter of stabbing 26-year-old Lynn Bjarnason (bee-YARN’-ah-son) in the chest with a samurai-style knife at Porter’s home early Saturday morning. Bjarnason died later that day at a Fargo hospital.<\/p>\n Porter and a woman who was at the scene told authorities that Bjarnason attacked Porter during a night of drinking. Porter said he was defending himself when he grabbed the knife from between seat cushions of a couch and stabbed Bjarnason once in the chest.<\/p>\n Police say Porter’s upper lip was swollen and he was bleeding from the mouth when authorities arrived at his home.<\/p>\n Court documents do not list an attorney for Porter.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n SHELDON, N.D. (AP) \u2014 Authorities say a man who stole a pickup from a fire station in North Dakota led a team of deputies on a chase over icy roads and narrowly beat an oncoming train before he was arrested.<\/p>\n Fire officials say the Fargo man was rummaging through property in Sheldon, looking for a ride to Enderlin. Larry Wayman says his son called 911 when he found the man inside his home. Authorities say the suspect eventually made his way to the fire station where got his hands on a pickup truck and took off.<\/p>\n Wayman joined deputies in tailing the truck on ice-covered back roads. He says he saw the suspect break through a stop arm at a railroad crossing just before a train blew through.<\/p>\n Deputies caught up with the man after a nine-mile chase Monday.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n In sports…<\/p>\n VALLEY CITY, N.D. (VCSU-CSi) \u2013 Valley City State University women\u2019s basketball coach Jill DeVries has announced the signing of Zoie Breckheimer for the 2017-18 season.<\/p>\n Currently a senior on the Finley-Sharon\/Hope Page (N.D.) basketball team, Breckheimer recently signed a letter of intent to continue her basketball career while attending Valley City State University.<\/p>\n DeVries says, \u201cWe are excited to have Zoie join the Viking family.\u00a0 She continues to improve each time out and her work ethic and passion for competing at a high level will help her find success at VCSU.\u201d<\/p>\n Breckheimer is no stranger to VCSU after playing annually in the Barnes County Girls Basketball Tournament at VCSU and earning All Tournament Team honors the last three seasons. Breckheimer is a three-year starter for the Spartans and was named to the Maple River All Conference team last season.<\/p>\n Through eight games this season Breckheimer is shooting 46 percent from the field while averaging 12.6 points, 5.1 assists and 4.1 steals per game. She averaged just under 11 points per game during her sophomore and junior seasons.<\/p>\n FSHP head coach Laura Ihry, adds, \u201cZoie has been a three-year starter for us and also played quite a bit during her freshman year.\u00a0 She has a great work ethic and puts in the time in the offseason to be a better player.\u201d<\/p>\n Zoie is the daughter of Tricia and Tom Breckheimer. Tricia also played basketball at VCSU.<\/p>\n Breckheimer joins Maddie Fenske (6-foot forward – Cottonwood, Minn.) as signed recruits for the 2017-18 season.
