\"MegynKelly1\"NEW YORK (AP) \u2014 Megyn<\/span>\u00a0Kelly<\/span>, the Fox News star whose 12-year stint has been marked by upheavals at her network and personal attacks on the campaign trail, is headed to NBC News.<\/p>\n

The move was confirmed by Kelly’s<\/span> publicist, Leslee Dart.<\/p>\n

Kelly’s<\/span> departure deprives Fox News of its second-most-watched host, behind only Bill O’Reilly.<\/p>\n

Her contract with the network was due to run out this summer.<\/p>\n

In the past two years, Kelly<\/span> has weathered personal attacks from Donald Trump during his presidential campaign, and last summer she played a behind-the-scenes role in the ouster of Fox News founder Roger Ailes after multiple accusations of sexual harassment.<\/p>\n

She is expected to take on a multi-faceted role at NBC.<\/p>\n

She is expected to replace the 8 a.m. CT slot on the “Today” show, industry sources told Deadline<\/a> and Broadcasting & Cable<\/a>. That would mean her new daytime talk show would go head-to-head with ABC’s “Live,” which Kelly led to its highest post-Strahan ratings when she guest co-hosted the morning after the 2016 presidential election.<\/p>\n

Kelly will also anchor a Sunday evening news magazine program and participate in political, breaking news and special events coverage for NBC News.<\/p>\n
