(AP) &#8211; North Dakota Democratic governor candidate<br \/>\nRyan Taylor has chosen former Valley City State President Ellen<br \/>\nChaffee (CHAF&#8217;-ee) as his running mate.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Taylor and former first lady Jane Sinner announced the selection<br \/>\non Wednesday in Fargo.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The 67-year-old Chaffee retired from Valley City State in 2007,<br \/>\nafter serving as the school&#8217;s president for 15 years.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 North Dakota Democrats are holding their convention this weekend<br \/>\nin Grand Forks. Delegates historically have picked their favored<br \/>\nlieutenant governor candidate at the state party&#8217;s convention.<br \/>\nTaylor has said that he wanted to choose his own running mate<br \/>\nbefore the convention begins.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Democrats will be opposing incumbent Republican Gov. Jack<br \/>\nDalrymple and Lt. Gov. Drew Wrigley.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Dalrymple has been governor since December 2010, when former<br \/>\nGov.
