Sgt. Tom Herzig reports indicated three incidents in a short period of time.<\/p>\n
At 2:30 p.m., \u00a0North of Woodworth a 2010 Volvo semi driven by Ron Hintz was blown into the east ditch, rolling the truck and trailer. Hintz was not injured.<\/p>\n
At 4:30 p.m., a rig driven by Farah Hassan was exiting I-94 onto Highway 1, when the wind that forced \u00a0his 2004 Freightliner onto its side in the east ditch.<\/p>\n
He was taken to \u00a0CHI Mercy Hospital in Valley City..<\/p>\n
On Highway 52 north of Jamestown. A semi operated by \u00a0Dario Vavala of Illinois was southbound \u00a0when his 2000 Freightliner was blown onto its side blocking \u00a0north and southbound lanes. The highway was shut down for two hours.<\/p>\n
The Highway Patrol was assisted by the Stutsman County Sheeriff\u2019s Office in diverting traffic Vavala was treated for his injuries and released.<\/p>\n
The Highway Patrol indicates that during inclement weather, high-profile, long-load type, and permitted overdimensional vehicles have restricted travel. North Dakota law restricts movement for these vehicles when wind or other conditions may cause the vehicle or attachment to swerve, whip, sway, or fail to follow in the path of the towing vehicle.<\/p>\n
