(AP) &#8211; U.S. Army Corps Major General John Peabody says that even with the new Tolna Coulee control structure in place, no one can predict how future weather patterns will affect the level of Devils Lake.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Corps officials were visiting Valley City after the Tolna Coulee control structure was dedicated in Nelson County last week.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Peabody\u00a0says the \u00a0corps will re-evaluate the decades-old Bald Hill Dam operating plan as it does not take into account Devils Lake and the new structure.<\/p>\n<p>Peabody says the control structure is one more tool of protection for downstream residents nervous about the lake rising to the breakout level of 1,458 feet.<\/p>\n<p>The lake reached a record elevation 1,454 feet last year before backing off to slightly below 1,453 feet as of July 19.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>VALLEY CITY, N.D.
