News) &#8212; The Jamestown City Council met in Regular Session Monday evening (Feb 4, 2013) at City Hall.\u00a0 All members were present.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Consent Agenda Items considered separately: None.<\/p>\n<p>REGULAR AGENDA:<\/p>\n<p>RESOLUTIONS:<\/p>\n<p>A Public Hearing was held<strong>, <\/strong>concerning the request for vacation of the portion of alley adjacent to Lots 1 &amp; 2, Block 1, Riffe 1<span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-size: xx-small;\">st <\/span><\/span><span>Addition, and Lots 1, 2 and W.58\u2019 of Lot 3, Block 4, Hi-Acres Hillcrest Addition, all to the City of Jamestown, Stutsman County, North Dakota. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>No one appeared for the public hearing.<\/p>\n<p>Following the Public Hearing Council Members voted to approve the request \u00a0for vacation of the portion of the alley.<\/p>\n<p>Mayor Andersen said the vacation is appropriate since the area is being repurposed.<\/p>\n<p>The Jamestown City Planning Commission is reviewing a zone change request.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Appointments:<\/p>\n<p>Mayor Andersen\u2019s appointment was approved of Amie Romsdal to the Civil Service Commission, with the term to expire in January of 2015.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Mayor and Council Member Reports:<\/p>\n<p>Mayor Andersen said a Cub Scout Troop will tour City Hall after the Council meeting, Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Council Member Buchanan noted that Eventide was holding a public meeting to discuss future plans for the facility and again on Friday this week.<\/p>\n<p>Council Member Kourjian noted a large turnout at the Jumpin Jack Frost event last weekend at the Jamestown Civic Center.<\/p>\n<p>Other Business:<\/p>\n<p>The City Council recognized the Spring Baseball Program as an other public spirited organization and authorized the issuance of a calendar raffle permit with the drawings to be held April &amp; May 2013.<\/p>\n<p>The City Council recognized the James Valley Street Machines, Inc., as an other public spirited organization and authorized the issuance of a Charity Local Permit for the drawing held October 28, 2012. The event was already held, and the State Attorney General notified the city that all other paperwork was in order, and that the City Council could authorize the permit retroactively.<\/p>\n<p>Council Members approved the request from the Jamestown Chapter of the RMEF MinnDak Inc., for a gaming site authorization at the Gladstone Inn (Banquet Rooms) on March 23, 2013.<\/p>\n<p>The City Council approved the request from the North Dakota Buffalo Foundation, Inc., for a gaming site authorization at the Quality Inn (Banquet Rooms) on March 1, 2 &amp; 3, 2013.<\/p>\n<p>The City Council then voted to reject the bids received for construction of Water &amp; Sewer District #12-61 &amp; 12-31.<\/p>\n<p>The Council then authorized re-advertising for bids for the staged construction of the Water &amp; Sewer District, at the site of the Titan Machinery building under construction west of Jamestown.<\/p>\n<p>The sewer project will be re-bid, and two bids, will be for work on two halves of the water lines, north and south a loop system pending a settlement of watering serving issues, between the City of Jamestown and Stutsman Rural Water District.<\/p>\n<p>The City Council then approved Resolutions pertaining to 2012 750,000 gallon Water Tower and Water Distribution System Improvements Project<\/p>\n<p>Travis Dillman of Interstate Engineering said the tower designed is planned as a single spheroid, looking like a golf ball on a tee. The paint designed is now planned as white with black lettering.<\/p>\n<p>The City Council accepted and approved the plans and specifications, as prepared by the Interstate Engineering, Inc., for construction of the Water Tower, and directed the City Administrator to advertise for bids for construction of the Water Tower.<\/p>\n<p>Robert Thompson the contractor for the Titan Machinery project asked for an update on negotiation with Stutsman Rural Water District concerning how the talks were going. Mayor Andersen update the meeting schedule this week, between the City and SRWD.\u00a0 (meeting online at CSiNewsNow.com)<\/p>\n<p>Thompson said the work on the building under construction west of Jamestown is at a standstill until water service, and water pressure information becomes available.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting was shown live on CSi 67 followed by replays.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V.
