Partly cloudy, with a low around 49.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Saturday night into Sunday\u00a0 brings the first round of showers and some thunderstorms to the area.<\/p>\n<p>Through the remainder of the extended period&#8230; the greatest chances for rain<\/p>\n<p>appear to come in the late Monday into Wednesday, with plenty of <a href=\"http:\/\/forecast.weather.gov\/glossary.php?word=moisture\">moisture<\/a><\/p>\n<p>for North Dakota,\u00a0 with some locales having the potential for an inch or more of <a href=\"http:\/\/forecast.weather.gov\/glossary.php?word=rainfall\">rainfall<\/a> in the Monday- Tuesday timeframe.<\/p>\n<p>Chances of showers\/thunderstorms will be in the forecast through next week.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Sanborn\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 No injuries reported Thursday morning about 6:15 in Sanborn, when a faulty valve let an anhydrous ammonia field tank to leak, near the old elevator.<\/p>\n<p>Barnes County Sheriff Randy McClaflin says two homes were evacuated as a precaution<\/p>\n<p>Fire and Rescue crews contained the leak.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 A 48 year-old \u00a0California man, Samuel Henry Hanna was sentenced to four years in prison.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday, Hanna pleaded guilty to a Class A felony, drug charge, stemming from evidence gathered during a traffic stop by the Stutsman County Sheriff\u2019s Office on March 28, 2017<\/p>\n<p>Stutsman County Deputy Matt Thom had conducted the traffic stop, and a search of the vehicle by a K-9 unit turned up about \u00a016 and a half pounds of marijuana in his possession.<\/p>\n<p>Hanna said the marijuana was for medicinal purposes.<\/p>\n<p>Stutsman County State\u2019s Attorney, Fritz Fremgen dropped three charges of possession of controlled substance and two possessions of drug paraphernalia, in exchange for a guilty plea.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>BISMACK, N.D. (AP) \u2014 Sheriff&#8217;s deputies in North Dakota have arrested a Tacoma, Washington, man with 13 pounds of marijuana in the back of his car.<\/p>\n<p>The man was speeding early Wednesday morning when a deputy pulled the man over, and then smelled marijuana.<\/p>\n<p>The Sheriff&#8217;s Department news release states deputies found 21 vacuum-sealed bags of marijuana valued at $33,000 in the man&#8217;s vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>The man&#8217;s bond was set at $5,000 after he was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>MINOT, N.D. (AP) \u2014 One of two drivers who died when their semitrailers crashed in northwestern North Dakota has been identified.<\/p>\n<p>The state Highway Patrol identified one of the drivers as 29-year-old Anthony Gonzales of Hamilton, Montana. The driver of the other semi has not been identified.<\/p>\n<p>The crash happened early Saturday on the Highway 23 bypass near New Town. Authorities say the semi Gonzales was driving was loaded with crude oil. The other semi was loaded with frack sand. Both were completely burned.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) \u2014 A federal judge in North Dakota has cleared the way to try the 10 defendants who have already been arraigned in a multimillion-dollar Jamaican lottery scam case instead of waiting for the other five suspects to be taken into U.S. custody.<\/p>\n<p>Assistant U.S. Attorney Clare Hochhalter asked U.S. District Judge Dan Hovland to allow the government to proceed to trial without waiting for the remaining defendants to be caught or extradited from Jamaica, saying the mostly elderly victims deserve justice in a case that has already dragged on for more than five years.<\/p>\n<p>Hovland approved the request Wednesday, saying it is &#8220;in the best interest of the public and all of the defendants.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>A trial date hasn&#8217;t been set.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>GRAFTON, N.D. (AP) \u2014 Authorities say a 39-year-old woman from Grafton raided the business credit card account of her 82-year-old boss who has dementia.<\/p>\n<p>Caroline Lorenz racked up more than $12,000 in charges on golf, hotel stays, online shopping, clothes, groceries and assorted bills. Lorenz worked at a property management business.<\/p>\n<p>Lorenz is charged with exploitation of a vulnerable adult. Court documents do not list an attorney for her.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) \u2014 North Dakota regulators have set two public hearings on a proposed upgrade of a segment of a gasoline and diesel pipeline that runs from eastern Montana to Fargo.<\/p>\n<p>Laurel, Montana based-Cenex Pipeline says the proposed $115 million upgrade is needed to keep pace with increased demand for refined fuels in North Dakota and western Minnesota.<\/p>\n<p>The company wants to expand the line from 8 inches in diameter to 10 inches.<\/p>\n<p>The North Dakota section under review begins near Williston and ends at an existing terminal in Minot.<\/p>\n<p>North Dakota Public Service Commission set hearing dates for the proposal on July 24 in Minot and July 25 in Tioga.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) \u2014 The North Dakota Department of Health is monitoring the cleanup of a tank leak that spilled more than 25,000 gallons of crude oil in McKenzie County.<\/p>\n<p>The department said Thursday it was notified of the spill that happened at a transmission pipeline distribution point operated by Crestwood Midstream. The spill was discovered April 28 about 11 miles southeast of Keene and was reported to the National Response Center and the North Dakota Industrial Commission.<\/p>\n<p>Officials say the spilled oil was released from the primary tank and contained within the secondary containment.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) \u2014 A North Dakota Powerball player has claimed a prize worth $150,000.<\/p>\n<p>The North Dakota Lottery says the winner from New Town claimed the prize Thursday. The winner wants to remain anonymous, but the lottery says she played her favorite set of numbers which she has played for years.<\/p>\n<p>The ticket matched four white balls plus the Powerball in Saturday night&#8217;s drawing to win the $50,000 third prize. The ticketholder had purchased an option that tripled the amount.<\/p>\n<p>The Powerball jackpot has grown to $184 million for Saturday night&#8217;s drawing.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>WASHBURN, N.D. (AP) \u2014 Residents of a central North Dakota city are celebrating the expansion of a local wildlife management area and flood control measures that come with it.<\/p>\n<p>A flood control project is expected to be part of the expansion of the Painted Woods Wildlife Management Area in Washburn. The flood-control element is what brought local officials, farmers and ranchers out in support a little over a year ago.<\/p>\n<p>Backed-up water flowing into Painted Woods Lake has been flooding adjacent farmland for about six to eight years. The flooding is due to years of silt buildup and 10- to 12-foot-tall cattails restricting drainage into the lake.<\/p>\n<p>McLean County has tried to mitigate damage to neighboring lands. Vincent Stewart, the director of the Defense Intelligence Agency, tells a Senate panel that the U.S. must do &#8220;something very different&#8221; or else the current stalemate in fighting will tip in the Taliban&#8217;s favor.<\/p>\n<p>SALT LAKE CITY (AP) \u2014 The Mormon church is pulling older teenagers from the Boy Scouts as the religion takes a step toward developing its own global scouting-like program. The Utah-based church is the largest sponsor of Boy Scouts in the U.S. A church spokesman says 185,000 teenagers ages 14-18 will no longer participate in the Boy Scouts starting next year. The Boy Scouts put the number of departing members at 130,000.
