{"id":121954,"date":"2017-05-22T08:02:49","date_gmt":"2017-05-22T13:02:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=121954"},"modified":"2017-05-22T15:35:04","modified_gmt":"2017-05-22T20:35:04","slug":"se-nd-alcohol-saturation-nets-arrests","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=121954","title":{"rendered":"SE ND alcohol saturation nets arrests"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-96301\" src=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/NDHPalcholsobriety-300x202.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"202\" srcset=\"https:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/NDHPalcholsobriety-300x202.jpg 300w, https:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/NDHPalcholsobriety-260x175.jpg 260w, https:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/NDHPalcholsobriety.jpg 445w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>Bismarck\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0\u00a0 The North Dakota Highway Patrol &#8211; Southeast Region conducted an alcohol saturation in Ransom, Sargent, LaMoure and Dickey Counties May 19<sup>th<\/sup> &amp; 20<sup>th<\/sup>.\u00a0 Troopers from across the Southeast Region worked overtime during this time frame.<\/p>\n<p>The following are the results of the overtime saturation:<\/p>\n<p>2 \u2013 Driving Under the Influence arrests<\/p>\n<p>2 \u2013 Open Container citations<\/p>\n<p>2 \u2013 Minor in Consumption arrests<\/p>\n<p>3 \u2013 Delivery of Alcohol to a Minor arrests<\/p>\n<p>2 \u2013 Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia arrests<\/p>\n<p>27 \u2013 Total citations issued<\/p>\n<p>14 \u2013 Total warnings issued<\/p>\n<p>0 \u2013 Alcohol related crashes that occurred<\/p>\n<p>In 2016, approximately 40% of all traffic fatality victims in North Dakota were killed in alcohol related crashes, but approximately 50% of fatal victims in the Southeast Region were killed in alcohol related crashes.\u00a0 The Southeast Region consists of the following counties:\u00a0 Cass, Richland, Ransom, Sargent, Griggs, Barnes, LaMoure, Dicky, Foster, Stutsman, Logan and McIntosh Counties.<\/p>\n<p>The goal of the saturation is deter and detect impaired drivers to prevent additional traffic crashes from occurring because of impaired drivers.<\/p>\n<p>Fatal crashes are higher this year compared to the same time period in 2016. North Dakota has experienced 13 more fatal crashes with 14 more fatalities. The Highway Patrol is urging motorists to exercise extra caution when driving on North Dakota roadways. Driving is a full-time responsibility and requires complete attention.<\/p>\n<p>Troopers will maximize time on active patrol, focusing on the most common crash-causing behaviors: speeding, right-of-way violations, alcohol use, and distractions. These actions, combined with not wearing a seat belt, can have deadly consequences.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are encouraging drivers to return to the basics \u2013 buckle up and obey the speed limit.
