Herman was thrown from his motorcycle and came to rest in the north ditch. 30 year-old Christof Paul locked his brakes and laid his motorcycle over to avoid striking debris from Herman’s motorcycle.

Herman was transported to Sanford Health in Bismarck for his injuries. Paul was transported to CHI St. Alexius-Bismarck for his injuries. Neither were wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol is continuing the investigation.

CARTWRIGHT, N.D. The driver, from Billings, Montana, was thrown from the pickup and died.

The victim’s name was not immediately released.

KINDRED, N.D. (AP) — Police say numerous charges are expected against a Davenport man accused of driving drunk, crashing an SUV, fleeing the scene and leaving an injured passenger behind.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol says the 24-year-old driver turned off Highway 46 near Kindred Saturday night onto a gravel road when he lost control and the SUV flipped into a ditch, coming to rest on its roof.

The driver fled, but was found a mile away without shoes. The 26-year-old female passenger was taken to Essentia Hospital in Fargo. The extent of her injuries isn’t known.

Authorities say besides driving drunk and leaving the scene of a crash, the man’s license was suspending and he didn’t have auto insurance.

BISMARCK, N.D. He says the association will be hosting a public meeting June 7 to answer questions.

Rikki Roehrich, of the State Commerce Department, says she’s been working with Legislative Council to determine whether Bismarck could bring the program back at a later date if it’s not renewed.

The city has used the Renaissance Zone Program since 2001.

MINOT, N.D. (AP) — Dwindling revenue sources in Minot will mean tough decisions about city spending in the future.

The city recently held workshops to discuss topics including declining mill levy, which dropped from 122 mills in 2007 to nearly 78 in 2016. The decrease could’ve been due to Minot’s increased valuation. Higher property values and appropriated acres contributed to the city’s valuation.

In 2016, Minot appropriated 17,753 acres, which was up 85 percent from the 9,600 acres appropriated in 2007.

In some cases, the city on the edge of the oil patch built out infrastructure to annexed acres only to see a stall in the development that generates tax revenue. Sales tax income also is declining back to pre-oil boom levels.

City Manager Tom Barry says that will remain an issue until “those undeveloped areas fill in.”

In sports…

Jamestown (CSi) The Jamestown Parks and Recreation Department is offering the parks program at Meidinger Park, McElroy Park, Nickeus Park and Leapaldt Park beginning today for children ages 6-12.

These parks will provide supervised activities Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 12:00pm and 1:00pm to 4:30pm. Activities include arts, crafts, games and much more. The program is free. Parents are responsible for all transportation.

Jamestown (CSi) The Jamestown Drag Racing Association presents Drag Racing at Jamestown Regional Airport, on Saturday and Sunday July 15-16, 2017.

Special guests this year the Mid-West Wild Bunch, with Outlaws Drag Racing.

Featured sponsor: Jamestown Tourism.

More information on line at: www.JAMESTOWNDRAGRACING.COM

The registration form, which was revised in 2015, is now available.
