(AP) \u2014 Federal prosecutors say they’ve recovered more than $389,000 in forfeitures and seizures from a scheme to defraud investors in a North Dakota oil patch trucking business.<\/p>\n The figure is in a document filed ahead of sentencing this week for Sarah Creveling, the co-owner of a Minot trucking company along with her ex-husband, James Henrikson.<\/p>\n Creveling reached a plea agreement earlier this year after being charged in federal court with conspiracy to commit mail fraud and money laundering. She faces up to 20 years in prison.<\/p>\n Prosecutors say restitution claims run to nearly $500,000.<\/p>\n Henrikson is serving two life terms in prison after being convicted of ordering the deaths of two former oil patch associates, including a Spokane, Washington, businessman, and a former employee in the trucking company.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n BERTHOLD, N.D. (AP) \u2014 Officials say a registered sex offender from Alabama wanted on numerous felony warrants has been hiding out in North Dakota.<\/p>\n Authorities say the 41-year-old man was convicted of sexually abusing a child in North Dakota among other felonies. Police say the man was a passenger in a vehicle stopped in Berthold. He was arrested for providing false information and drug possession.<\/p>\n Ward County jailers ran a fingerprint check and learned he was wanted in Alabama. (AP) \u2014 Hot, dry weather is hampering North Dakota farmers.<\/p>\n The U.S. Department of Agriculture says much of North Dakota saw hot, dry and windy conditions during the week that ended Sunday. Temperatures for the week averaged 2 to 6 degrees above normal.<\/p>\n Western North Dakota received little to no rain last week, while some areas in the east received up to an inch. Wind caused topsoil to dry out and delayed spraying.<\/p>\n Topsoil moisture supplies were rated 17 percent very short, 37 percent short, 44 adequate and 2 percent surplus.<\/p>\n Corn plantings reached 99 percent, close to last year’s 98 percent but ahead of the five-year average of 93 percent. Under his guidance, Viking athletics has improved its presence online and on social media. This year he led the creation of a new VCSU athletics mobile app in conjunction with SIDhelp. Hunters are encouraged to apply online at the state Game and Fish Department website, gf.nd.gov.<\/p>\n The deadline applies to muzzleloader, regular gun, gratis and nonresident landowner, and youth antlered mule deer applications (specifically for antlered mule deer in units 3B1, 3B2, and 4A-4F).<\/p>\n A new law passed by the North Dakota State Legislature allows youth who turn age 11 before the end of the calendar year to receive a whitetail doe license valid for only the youth deer hunting season. Therefore, 10-year-olds who turn age 11 in 2017 are eligible to receive an antlerless whitetail license. Hunter education is not required until the youth turns age 12.<\/p>\n State law requires residents age 18 or older to prove residency on the application by submitting a valid North Dakota driver\u2019s license number or a North Dakota nondriver photo identification number.
