FARGO, N.D. (AP) \u2014 There have been no reports of property damage from tornadoes in the northern Red River Valley.<\/p>\n

Several twisters were spotted Wednesday afternoon west and southwest of Grand Forks, and the National Weather Service issued tornado warnings for parts of the region.<\/p>\n

Meteorologist Tom Szymanski (shuh-MAN’-skee) says the twisters were small “land-spout” funnels, which aren’t associated with classic supercell storms.<\/p>\n

Jamestown\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 Jamestown Police arrested two individuals following the pursuit of a vehicle\u00a0shortly after 6-p.m.,\u00a0Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Police say the pursuit began\u00a0 at the intersection of 18th Street Southwest and Highway 281.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The vehicle being pursued went through the fence of the buffalo pasture, and then the\u00a0\u00a0suspects fled on foot, east of Buffalo City Diesel.<\/p>\n

Police Sgt. Mann says the pair were caught on foot,\u00a0and taken into custody.<\/p>\n

Jamestown\u00a0 (CSi )\u00a0 No structural damage was reported after city crews inspected the viaduct over 4th<\/sup> Avenue Northeast during the 5-p.m. hour, Wednesday.<\/p>\n

The northbound lane under the 4th Avenue Northeast viaduct in Jamestown was blocked to traffic early Wednesday evening after an incident involving a semi-trailer rig striking the structure and continuing without stopping.<\/p>\n

The mishap led to the\u00a0closure\u00a0from \u00a05:21-p.m. to 5:43 p.m.\u00a0while a\u00a0\u00a0crew from the\u00a0 Street Department assessed any structural \u00a0damage to the viaduct.<\/p>\n

Lt. Robert Opp says the investigation is continuing.<\/p>\n

Anyone with information on the vehicle involved is asked to call Jamestown Police at 701-252-2414.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Bismarck\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0\u00a0 The NDDOT informs motorists that the west bound off ramp on I-94 at the Windsor Interchange, (Exit 242) is now open to traffic. The ramp was temporarily closed Tuesday for repairs.<\/p>\n

Jamestown (CSi) The All Vets Club in Jamestown will host a Viet Nam Memory Night on Friday June 16, 2017, starting at 5-p.m.<\/p>\n

The event will honor the lives lost during the Viet Nam War, 1963-1975.<\/p>\n

Stutsman Harley Davidson Marketing Manager Ashley Domino says $3,971 were raised.<\/p>\n

FARGO, N.D. (AP) \u2014 North Dakota’s U.S. senators say President Donald Trump has nominated U.S. District Judge Ralph Erickson to serve on the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.<\/p>\n

Erickson is a federal judge in Fargo. He’s served in various judicial positions for nearly a quarter of a century. In 2003, he was nominated by President George W. Bush and confirmed by the U.S. Senate to serve as a federal judge.<\/p>\n

Erickson says he’s “humbled and honored” by the confidence Trump has shown in him. His nomination will need to be confirmed by the Senate.<\/p>\n

Sen. John Hoeven and Sen. Heidi Heitkamp both say they’ll support his nomination.<\/p>\n

The 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals handles appeals from federal courts in the Dakotas, Arkansas, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri and Nebraska.<\/p>\n

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) \u2014 U.S. and Jamaican authorities have apprehended another suspect in an alleged multimillion-dollar lottery scam targeting dozens of Americans.<\/p>\n

North Dakota U.S. Attorney Chris Myers says Gregory Gooden was arrested this week in Jamaica. Gooden was one of four fugitives still being sought in the case.<\/p>\n

A total of 15 people are charged with conspiracy, wire fraud, mail fraud and money laundering. Ten who have pleaded not guilty are scheduled for trial July 17 in federal court in North Dakota. Three other suspects remain fugitives, and another is in custody in Jamaica awaiting extradition.<\/p>\n

Authorities allege the scam bilked at least 90 mostly elderly Americans out of more than $5.7 million. The case is being tried in North Dakota because the investigation began in the state more than five years ago.<\/p>\n

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) \u2014 North Dakota regulators have scheduled late-summer hearings on potentially finable offenses alleged against the Texas-based developer of the Dakota Access oil pipeline.<\/p>\n

The North Dakota Public Service Commission is investigating whether Energy Transfer Partners removed too many trees and shrubs while laying pipe in the state, and whether the company improperly reported the discovery of Native American artifacts along the route.<\/p>\n

No artifacts were disturbed, and ETP maintains it didn’t intentionally do anything wrong in either case.<\/p>\n

The three-member PSC has set a half-day hearing Aug. 16 on the artifacts dispute and a full-day hearing Aug. 17 on the tree issue. Both are open to the public.<\/p>\n

ETP could face fines of up to $400,000, though it could fight any fines imposed by regulators in state district court.<\/p>\n

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) \u2014 North Dakota ranchers hit by drought now have a new hotline they can call for help.<\/p>\n

State Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring announced the hay hotline on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Goehring says ranchers who need hay \u2014 or have hay to sell or pasture or hay land to rent \u2014 can call 701-425-8454. People who are available to move hay also are encouraged to call the hotline.<\/p>\n

People who call the hotline will provide their name, contact information and what they need or can provide. They will be entered into the Drought Hotline database to be matched up with others.<\/p>\n

North Dakota Department of Agriculture employees will answer the hotline weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Callers also can leave a message on evenings and weekends. The service is free.<\/p>\n

MANDAN, N.D. (AP) \u2014 Ranchers are bringing more cattle to auction with 25 percent of North Dakota in a moderate drought.<\/p>\n

Kist Livestock Auction field man Matt Lachenmeier says the Mandan business has handled about 1,000 to 1,300 more animals than is typical for this time of the year.<\/p>\n

A\u00a0 tough winter has depleted the hay supply with a poor outlook for a good crop this summer. Lachenmeier says the cattle brought to auction are from a widespread area. He says other sales barns across the state are also seeing increased sales.<\/p>\n

The U.S. Drought Monitor says North Dakota has had below average precipitation during the past three months. Portions of central and south-central Dakota have gotten 25 percent to 50 percent of normal precipitation during the period.<\/p>\n

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) \u2014 The North Dakota Industrial Commission has revoked an oilfield facility’s permit for illegally dumping waste.<\/p>\n

The Bismarck Tribune reports that the commission voted Monday to revoke Apollo Resources’ permit and ordered the site be cleaned by October.<\/p>\n

Commission records show that a state inspector observed a facility employee intentionally pumping drilling mud and wastewater onto a rancher’s pasture in October in McKenzie County, south of Williston.<\/p>\n

Milt Madison owns the land next to the plant and says about 10 to 20 acres of his pasture have been contaminated.<\/p>\n

A spill report estimates the contamination at more than 3,300 gallons (nearly 12,500 liters).<\/p>\n

Apollo says the employee responsible for the contamination has since been fired and the facility “stands ready to continue its efforts to clean up the site.”<\/p>\n

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) \u2014 Bob Stoops had been the longest-tenured active head football coach. Not anymore.<\/p>\n

Stoops has retired after 18 seasons at Oklahoma. Stoops was 190-48 with the Sooners, winning 10 Big 12 titles and the 2000 national championship.<\/p>\n

The 56-year-old Stoops says the time is right to step down, but adds his health had nothing to do with his decision.<\/p>\n

The Sooners moved quickly to name a replacement, elevating offensive coordinator Lincoln Riley. The 33-year-old Riley becomes the youngest head coach in the Bowl Subdivision.<\/p>\n

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) \u2014 Egypt has condemned Islamic State-claimed attacks on Iran’s parliament and a shrine to its revolutionary leader in the “strongest terms.” Egypt’s Foreign Ministry offered its condolences to the families of those killed in Wednesday’s twin attacks and called on the international community to intensify its efforts to fight terrorism and its sources of funding.<\/p>\n
