News Feb 12,2013) &#8212; Mark your calendars for the 2nd Annual Rib Fest, coming to Ava Maria Village in Jamestown June 1, 2013.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday\u2019s Wayne Byers Show, on CSi Cable 2 Lori Mettert with the Ave Maria Village, Activities Department said, the event will be from 11-am to 4-p.m., with the proceeds going to Stutsman County Relay for Life.<\/p>\n<p>Ms. Mettert says they will have one ton of ribs available to cook, and will NOT run out of ribs this year. She added the cost to purchase ribs is $5 per plate.<\/p>\n<p>Volunteers are needed to do the cooking.<\/p>\n<p>They along with concessionaires and vendors are welcome to get signed up now.<\/p>\n<p>So far five are confirmed to cook ribs, and more are welcome.<\/p>\n<p>She added that those cooking the ribs may donate all or a portion of their proceeds to Relay For Life.<\/p>\n<p>With the car, motorcycle, and tractor show, trophies will be awarded in various categories. No entry fee.<\/p>\n<p>She added that there will be music entertainment through Rib Fest with two bands already signed up.<\/p>\n<p>This year, there will also be concessions, inflatable games and barrel rides for the kids, and kids foods, like hot dogs.<\/p>\n<p>She pointed out that those wishing to be vendors, or enter cars, motorcycles, or tractors may contact her, along with anyone wishing to donate silent auction items.<\/p>\n<p>Contact Lori Mettert at Ave Maria Village at 252-5660.<\/p>\n<p>Also on our show was Joe Fieber, the rib cooker from Ave Maria Village.<\/p>\n<p>He said this year he\u2019ll be preparing babyback ribs with his secret seasoning recipe.<\/p>\n<p>His recipe calls for cooking 100 pounds of ribs for four hours.<\/p>\n<p>\u3000<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News Feb 12, 2013) &#8212; A Valentine Tea is planned for this Saturday, (Feb 16, 2013) as a women of faith gathering.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday\u2019s Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2, Sharon Maulding said the event will be a St. John\u2019s Academy\u2019s, Zebedee Center, starting at 10-a.m.<\/p>\n<p>She said, women of all denominations are invited, at no charge, and may bring along their favor tea or coffee mug.<\/p>\n<p>Free babysitting will also be offered.<\/p>\n<p>The Master of Ceremonies will be Suzanne Bowman from Victory Lutheran Church in Jamestown.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0WEST FARGO, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A North Dakota Highway Patrol trooper and the driver of a pickup truck that went out of control and rear-ended his patrol car on Interstate 94 near West Fargo both escaped serious injury.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Patrol Capt. Bryan Niewind (NEE&#8217;-wihnd) says Trooper Jamey Jahner and the pickup&#8217;s driver both were treated at a Fargo hospital and released after the Monday night crash.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Niewind says Jahner suffered a cut to his head and will be off duty for a couple of days to recover.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The pickup driver&#8217;s name was not immediately released.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u3000BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; One of two men accused in the armed robbery of a southwestern North Dakota bank last fall has pleaded guilty.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Johnner Ward Jr. entered his pleas to charges of bank robbery and use of a firearm during a crime of violence Monday in federal court in Bismarck. He faces at least seven years in prison and up to life when he is sentenced May 10.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Ward and Colt Schneider are accused of holding up American Bank Center in New England last Oct. 18. Ward was later arrested in Texas and Schneider in Florida.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Schneider has pleaded not guilty. His public defender has asked that his Feb. 26 trial be delayed for at least two months to provide more time to prepare.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; The largest man camp operator in North Dakota&#8217;s oil patch is selling its properties to a multinational company for $625 million.\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The\u00a0 sale of Target Logistics&#8217; Bakken properties to Algeco Scotsman is expected to close at the end of the month. Algeco Scotsman owns modular worker housing and storage facilities in several countries.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Target Logistics operates man camps in Tioga, Williston, Watford City and Dunn County. More than 3,400 workers are housed in the facilities.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Target Logistics&#8217; spokesman Randy Pruett says there won&#8217;t be any immediate changes for the company because of the purchase.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Pruett says Target Logistics&#8217; name and logo will remain intact. A tag mentioning Algeco Scotsman will be added.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) &#8211; The University of North Dakota hockey team is back home in Grand Forks, after being stranded in South Dakota over the weekend because of a blizzard.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The team was traveling back from Omaha, Neb., and was forced to stop at a truck stop near the northeastern South Dakota town of Summit early Sunday. The team spent the rest of the night on the bus, then checked into a hotel in Sisseton later in the day.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Assistant Athletic Director Jayson Hajdu says the team left Sisseton about 2:30 p.m. Monday and arrived home about 6 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In world and national news..<\/p>\n<p>BIG BEAR LAKE, Calif. (AP) \u2013 Authorities say a fugitive ex-Los Angeles police officer is barricaded in a cabin in the Southern California mountains.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Someone in the Big Bear Lake area reported a stolen vehicle Tuesday and described the suspect as looking very similar to Christopher Dorner.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The vehicle was found and the person ran into the forest and barricaded himself inside a cabin.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Authorities say a short time later there was an exchange of gunfire between law enforcement and the suspect.\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Two law enforcement officers are being airlifted to a local hospital with unknown injuries.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>CHICAGO (AP) &#8211; A judge has ordered two gang members held without bail in the death of a 15-year-old Chicago honor student. The two are charged with first-degree murder in the death of Hadiya (hy-DEE&#8217;-uh) Pendleton. The girl was shot dead just days after she performed at events for President Barack Obama&#8217;s inauguration. First lady Michelle Obama attended her funeral. The girl&#8217;s parents will be sitting with the first lady tonight at the State of the Union speech.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 WASHINGTON (AP) &#8211; When President Barack Obama announces\u00a0 Tuesday night that 34,000 U.S. troops will be home from Afghanistan within a year, it will mark the next phase in the administration&#8217;s plans to formally finish the war by the end of next year. An official says Obama won&#8217;t announce troop numbers beyond 2014 in the speech, and hasn&#8217;t yet made that decision. The White House has said it would be open to leaving no troops in Afghanistan, though it&#8217;s likely that a small presence will remain.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 UNITED NATIONS (AP) &#8211; The U.N. Security Council is pledging further action against North Korea, calling today&#8217;s nuclear test a &#8220;clear threat to international peace and security.&#8221; North Korea had earlier conducted tests in the weeks after it launched rockets in 2006 and 2009 &#8212; and this third test followed a rocket launch in December. The council says it&#8217;s a &#8220;grave violation&#8221; of U.N. resolutions aimed at limiting the North&#8217;s nuclear program.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 WASHINGTON (AP) &#8211; Here are two words you don&#8217;t often hear together in Washington &#8212; budget surplus. The Treasury Department says the federal government reported a rare surplus for January. And it&#8217;s on track to run its smallest annual budget deficit since President Barack Obama took office. January&#8217;s surplus of $2.9 billion was achieved with the help of an estimated $9 billion in extra revenue from higher Social Security taxes.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 JACKSON, Ohio (AP) &#8211; An Ohio school board is set to decide Tuesday night how it will respond to a federal lawsuit seeking removal of a portrait of Jesus that hangs prominently in its middle school. Opponents say the large portrait unconstitutionally promotes religion. They filed a lawsuit last week on behalf on an unidentified student and two parents.
