News Feb 13, 2013)\u00a0 \u2013\u00a0 The Jamestown City Engineer\u2019s Office informs the public that due to utility repairs, 4<sup>th<\/sup> Ave SE between 6<sup>th<\/sup> &amp; 7<sup>th<\/sup> St SE <strong>will be closed TODAY, Wednesday, February 13, 2013<\/strong>until repairs are completed.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Crews anticipate repairs will be completed later Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Motorists\u2019 should use caution in and around this area and use alternate routes if possible.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News) \u2014 Thirty years ago,\u00a0 today, February 13, 1983, the shooting and killing of\u00a0U.S. Marshal Kenneth Muir and Deputy Marshal Bob Cheshire in Medina, ND, set off a nationwide manhunt for fugitive Gordon Kahl.<\/p>\n<p>Nearly a hundred U.S. Marshals and FBI agents headquartered out of the former Post Office building in downtown Jamestown, ND, as they searched for Kahl and Scott Faul.<\/p>\n<p>The tragic event spawned books, movies, TV movies, and countless news stories by local, state, and national news media.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In 1983, CSi TV photographer Kent Katterjohn and reporter Christine Sheppard interviewed law enforcement officials from the FBI and U.S. Marshal Service, and joined the media group as the search went to Medina with comments to the media by Dr. Clarence Martin.\u00a0 Some of the CSi video was used by CBS and ABC \u00a0in national stories.<\/p>\n<p>The Replay Channel\u00a0is editing\u00a0the several hours of 1983 video, some of which has never been aired,\u00a0 into a look back at the event,\u00a0 from after the shooting to the point the search left ND for Arkansas.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The project will premiere on The Replay Channel, CSi TV 10 at a\u00a0date to be announced. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News Feb 12,2013) &#8212; Mark your calendars for the 2nd Annual Rib Fest, coming to Ava Maria Village in Jamestown June 1, 2013.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday\u2019s Wayne Byers Show, on CSi Cable 2 Lori Mettert with the Ave Maria Village, Activities Department said, the event will be from 11-am to 4-p.m., with the proceeds going to Stutsman County Relay for Life.<\/p>\n<p>Ms. Mettert says they will have one ton of ribs available to cook, and will NOT run out of ribs this year. She added the cost to purchase ribs is $5 per plate.<\/p>\n<p>Volunteers are needed to do the cooking.<\/p>\n<p>They along with concessionaires and vendors are welcome to get signed up now.<\/p>\n<p>So far five are confirmed to cook ribs, and more are welcome.<\/p>\n<p>She added that those cooking the ribs may donate all or a portion of their proceeds to Relay For Life.<\/p>\n<p>With the car, motorcycle, and tractor show, trophies will be awarded in various categories. (AP) &#8211; United Blood Services of the Dakotas is urging people to donate blood in the wake of the weekend blizzard in the region to ensure a stable blood supply.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The organization says the storm forced the cancellation of several blood drives, and few donors were able to venture out Monday in the aftermath of the blizzard.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 United Blood Services of the Dakotas has North Dakota offices in Bismarck, Fargo and Minot, and South Dakota offices in Aberdeen, Mitchell and Rapid City.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Officials say North Dakota&#8217;s economy remains strong but appears to be entering a stage where growth is stabilizing.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 State Budget Director Pam Sharp and an executive with Moody&#8217;s Analytics told lawmakers on Tuesday that revenue during the current two-year budget cycle is now expected to be about $41 million more than the forecast released late last year. (AP) &#8211; A North Dakota man has been charged with killing another man with a rifle.\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n48-year-old Timothy Carl Mundt has been charged in the shooting death of 40-year-old Jessie Kirk in Westhope earlier this month.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Mundt is being held at the Bottineau County Sheriff&#8217;s Department. His bond has been set at $500,000 cash or corporate surety.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Authorities have withheld the circumstances surrounding the killing.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A preliminary hearing in the case has not yet been set.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>NEW SALEM, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A New Salem woman has pleaded not guilty to child abuse or neglect related to the broken arm of an infant.\u00a0\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n36-year-old Kyann McLaughlin pleaded not guilty to the felony at the Morton County Courthouse on Tuesday. She also waived a preliminary hearing.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Authorities say McLaughlin broke the arm of a 7-month-old girl in December at her in-home day care. McLaughlin called the girl&#8217;s mother and told her she thought the girl&#8217;s shoulder was dislocated when McLaughlin picked her up after a diaper change. But doctors said the girl&#8217;s arm was broken. They said the only explanation was that the arm was pulled forcefully and twisted.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 McLaughlin&#8217;s next court hearing is scheduled for March 18.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A man has been sentenced to 11 years in prison on a federal drug charge in North Dakota.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Tomas Dieguez pleaded guilty in November to conspiracy to possess with intent to deliver a controlled substance. Authorities say Dieguez and Arnaldo Guerrero sold meth in the Fargo area in July.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Guerrero has pleaded not guilty and is scheduled for trial in March.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Prosecutors asked that Dieguez be sentenced to 12 years in prison. Defense attorney Jesse Lange argued for a term of not more than nine years.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; North Dakota Gov. Jack Dalrymple sees no need for a new governor&#8217;s mansion but some lawmakers want to build him one.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The North Dakota House is slated to vote on a measure Wednesday that would authorize the construction of a new governor&#8217;s residence on the state Capitol grounds, along with a so-called executive conference center. The measure would authorize $3 million for the new dwelling and allow another $3 million from &#8220;private donations or other sources.&#8221;\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Dalrymple spokesman Jeff Zent says the governor believes the current Governor&#8217;s Residence is fine.\u00a0 The residence was completed in 1960 and is an example of prairie style architecture.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A major renovation was completed in 2000.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A state Senate committee has given a do not pass recommendation to a measure aimed at curbing the oil industry&#8217;s practice of wasting natural gas.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A vote before the full Senate is slated Wednesday.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Natural gas is a byproduct of oil production and companies can burn off or &#8220;flare&#8221; natural gas for a year without paying taxes or royalties on it. Companies can then ask state regulators for an extension because of the high costs of moving the gas to market.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Sen. Tim Mathern introduced the measure and says the amount of natural gas burned off each day in North Dakota&#8217;s oil patch could heat more than 500,000 homes.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Opponents of the measure say companies have invested $4 billion to move the gas to market.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; The largest man camp operator in North Dakota&#8217;s oil patch is selling its properties to a multinational company for $625 million.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The\u00a0 sale of Target Logistics&#8217; Bakken properties to Algeco Scotsman is expected to close at the end of the month. Algeco Scotsman owns modular worker housing and storage facilities in several countries.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Target Logistics operates man camps in Tioga, Williston, Watford City and Dunn County. More than 3,400 workers are housed in the facilities.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Target Logistics&#8217; spokesman Randy Pruett says there won&#8217;t be any immediate changes for the company because of the purchase.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Pruett says Target Logistics&#8217; name and logo will remain intact. (AP) &#8211; An Iowa boxer has been suspended indefinitely in North Dakota after allegedly taking a dive while boxing a former Minnesota Vikings football player in West Fargo.<\/p>\n<p>Combative Sports Commissioner Al Jaeger says a video review of the fight between Nicholas Capes and a much larger Ray Edwards clearly shows Capes was not hit before he dropped to the canvas. Officials are continuing to investigate.<\/p>\n<p>Event promoter Cory Rapacz says Capes was a last-minute replacement for a couple of no-show boxers and didn&#8217;t realize what he was getting into before he got into the ring with Edwards, a former Vikings defensive end.
