Jamestown\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 The investiture for Southeast District Court\u00a0 Judge Cherie Clark was Friday, September 15, 2017, at 3-p.m., at the Stutsman County Courthouse in Courtroom number 2.<\/p>\n
Several attorneys were on hand along with court officials and Judge Daniel Narum the Presiding Judge of District Court.<\/p>\n
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Zach Johnson, Sergeant, Air Guard deployed to the United Arab Emirates.<\/p>\n
Remarks were given by North Dakota Governor, Doug Burgum, with additional remarks and the presentation of the Gavel by Cass County State\u2019s Attorney Birch Burdick.<\/p>\n
The Oath of Office was given by North Dakota Supreme Court Chief Justice Gerald VandeWalle.<\/p>\n
The presentation of the Robe was by Honorable Peter Hoff, Retired Judge from Minnesota, assisted by Greg Key, and Bijanca Clark.<\/p>\n
The Invocation and Benedict by Monsignor Jeffery Wald<\/p>\n
The public ceremony was followed by a reception, at the 1883 Stutsman County Courthouse.<\/p>\n
Governor Doug Burgum appointed Clark to the court this year, following being a prosecutor in Fargo since 2006.\u00a0 She worked as an Assistant County Attorney in Otter Tail County, Minnesota.<\/p>\n
She\u2019s the first woman judge in the Southeast Judicial District.<\/p>\n
Judge Clark was nominated following the retirement of Judge John Greenwood.<\/p>\n

Jamestown\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 – Jamestown Area Chamber of Commerce Executive, Becky Thatcher-Keller was an invited guest to hear President Trump address a gathering, in Mandan on September 6, 2017, and points out heavy security for the president\u2019s visit, speaking on his plan to cut income and estate taxes.<\/p>\n
On Friday\u2019s Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2 she said, her invitation came from the Greater North Dakota Chamber of Commerce.<\/p>\n
Her vantage point was seven rows from the stage, on a very warm sunny North Dakota day, as she even got sunburned, out in the open.<\/p>\n
She said security for the event was extremely tight, as the president was joined by his daughter Ivanka along with other dignitaries, and North Dakota\u2019s congressional delegation.\u00a0 She said it was good that Trump invited the entire North Dakota congressional delegation to join him on stage.<\/p>\n
She added that those in attendance presented their invitations and had to show ID, and woman had their purses checked.<\/p>\n
Security included a helicopter airborne over the site, and snipers were posed on nearby roof tops.<\/p>\n
She said that Trump\u2019s tax cut plans, if adopted and approved by congress are positive, and will make a huge difference in small businesses, bottom lines.<\/p>\n
The backdrop for President Donald Trump\u2019s visit to North Dakota was a refinery in Mandan, that processes up to 74,000 barrels a day of the state\u2019s crude oil into gasoline, diesel fuel, jet fuel and more.<\/p>\n
