{"id":129166,"date":"2017-09-19T14:56:43","date_gmt":"2017-09-19T19:56:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=129166"},"modified":"2017-09-21T07:25:43","modified_gmt":"2017-09-21T12:25:43","slug":"vcsu-set-enrollment-records","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=129166","title":{"rendered":"VCSU set enrollment records for fall term"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-7806\" src=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/vcsu-300x201.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"201\" srcset=\"https:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/vcsu-300x201.png 300w, https:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/vcsu-260x175.png 260w, https:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/vcsu.png 445w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>Valley City\u00a0 (CSi-VCSU)\u00a0 Valley City State University has set enrollment records with a total headcount of 1,522 and an undergraduate headcount of 1,372, according to official numbers released by the university for Fall Term 2017.<\/p>\n<p>The total enrollment figure of 1,522 surpasses the previous record of 1,452 set in Fall 2016, while the undergraduate mark of 1,372 exceeds the previous record of 1,369 from 1970.<\/p>\n<p>VCSU President Tisa Mason says, \u201cOur record enrollment is an indicator of the robust learning environment that students, faculty and staff have created together at VCSU.\u00a0 Part of our enrollment story is that our freshman retention rate\u2014the percentage of students who return for their second year\u2014has increased each of the last five years.The efforts we have focused on student success and support are making a difference.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Valley City State University was recently ranked the \u201cNo. 1 Public Regional College in the Midwest\u201d for the third consecutive year by U.S. News and World Report; the university has now been named a U.S. News \u201cBest College\u201d for 20 consecutive years.<\/p>\n<p>VCSU offers bachelor\u2019s programs in a wide variety of disciplines and two graduate programs, the master of education (M.Ed.) and the master of arts in teaching (M.A.T.). The graduate degrees are offered completely online, as are a host of undergraduate programs.
