\"\"Bismarck\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 <\/strong>Employer Support of the Guard and\u00a0Reserve, a Department of Defense program, is pleased to announce the selection\u00a0of\u00a0Delton Steele of Fargo\u00a0as the new\u00a0ESGR chair for North Dakota.<\/p>\n

The chair\u00a0is an official Department of Defense volunteer position. Steele will take an\u00a0oath of office and will be sworn in during a formal\u00a0ceremony at Alexandria, Virginia\u00a0Nov.17. He will serve under the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Reserve\u00a0Affairs. The position carries a three-year term and is the equivalent to a\u00a0military two-star flag officer under Department of Defense protocol. Steele will\u00a0provide leadership and\u00a0vision for a team of more than 50 dedicated volunteers who\u00a0are spread all across North Dakota.<\/p>\n

Steele is\u00a0currently the Regional President of Southeast North Dakota Region \u2013 U.S. Bank\u00a0in Fargo. He has a degree from Valley City State\u00a0University, Valley City, North\u00a0Dakota in Business Administration. \u00a0He has\u00a0a long and distinguished record of association with numerous\u00a0community\u00a0volunteer organizations.<\/p>\n

With almost\u00a0half of the Nation\u2019s military force serving in the Guard or Reserve, Steele\u00a0will have a direct impact on these men\u00a0and women and\u00a0their civilian employers.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe\u00a0patriotic support of America\u2019s employers and the employees they share with the nation\u00a0ensures the viability of the all-volunteer force, and\u00a0thus our national\u00a0security,\u201d said Steele. \u201cESGR applauds employers who practice personnel\u00a0policies that support employee participation in the\u00a0Guard and Reserve.\u201d<\/p>\n

Steele\u00a0joins 53 other chairs who oversee the ESGR mission in all 50 states, three U.S.\u00a0territories and the District of Columbia.<\/p>\n

ESGR seeks to foster a culture in which all employers\u00a0support and value the employment and military service of members of the\u00a0National Guard\u00a0and Reserve in the United States. ESGR facilitates and promotes\u00a0a cooperative culture of employer support for National Guard and Reserve\u00a0service by developing and advocating mutually beneficial initiatives,\u00a0recognizing outstanding employer support, increasing awareness of\u00a0applicable\u00a0laws and policies, resolving potential conflicts between employers and their\u00a0service members, and acting as the employers\u2019 principal\u00a0advocate within the\u00a0Department of Defense.\u00a0Paramount\u00a0to ESGR’s mission is encouraging employment of Guardsmen and Reservists who\u00a0bring\u00a0integrity, global perspective and proven leadership to the civilian\u00a0workforce.<\/p>\n
