League of Cities"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"Default\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-106244\" src=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/jmstcitycouncil-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/>Jamestown\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 The Jamestown City Council met in Regular Session Monday evening at City Hall.\u00a0 Council Member Brubakken was not present.<\/p>\n<p>The Council awarded the bid for well monitor at the City Landfill to Northern Technologies, LLC in the amount of $52,915, with the approval of the\u00a0 State Health Department funding.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt;\">NO CONSENT AGENDA ITEMS WERE DISCUSSED SEPARATELY<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt;\">REGULAR AGENDA <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt;\">RESOLUTIONS: <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt;\">The City Council approved a Resolution authorizing the issuance and sale of $900,000 Water Treatment Revenue Bond, Series 2017B. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>The City Council approved entering into an agreement with Interstate Engineering, Inc., for engineering services on construction of sidewalk along 12th Ave NE from 5th St NE to 13th Street NE and sidewalk between Two Rivers Activity Center (TRAC) and the Jamestown High School.\u00a0 It part of an 80 percent\u00a0 grant, through the NDDOT, and the Safe Routes to Schools program to be special assessed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt;\">The City Council considered a letter from Paul Ebertz requesting the variance granted to Tim Newton which would allow the construction of a garage exceeding the statutory lot coverage maximum of the property at 1418 5<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 8.0pt;\">th <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt;\">Ave. NE be rescinded. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt;\">Mayor Andersen said the letter no longer requires action due to changes in the original requests.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\">HEARING FROM THE AUDIENCE:<\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\">Jamestown Area Chamber of\u00a0Commerce \u00a0Executive, Becky Thatcher-Keller\u00a0told the Council that she has received\u00a0correspondence \u00a0from CenturyLink\u00a0seeking solutions to\u00a0 future fiber optic telephone line cuts,\u00a0 and address redundancy issues.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt;\">MAYOR AND COUNCIL MEMBER&#8217;S REPORT: <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt;\">Council Member Buchanan spoke about the Answering the Call newspaper insert, concerning first responders,\u00a0 and spoke about the Jamestown Dive Team their training, and their responses to calls.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt;\">He added the insert included information on the area SWAT Team.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt;\">Council Member Pam Phillips attended the North Dakota League of Cities meeting last weekend, saying Mayor Andersen has been elected as the new President of the North Dakota League of Cities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt;\">The meeting was recessed until the 6-p.m., City Budget Meeting.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt;\">The Regular Session was shown live on CSi 67 followed by replays.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jamestown\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 The Jamestown City Council met in Regular Session Monday evening at City Hall.\u00a0 Council Member Brubakken was not present.
