WIND CHILLS AROUND 35 BELOW.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Mid morning update&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>The North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) and the North Dakota Highway Patrol (NDHP) have temporarily closed eastbound and westbound lanes on I-94 from Jamestown to Valley City due to a traffic incident 3 miles\u00a0east of Jamestown at mile marker 265, that occurred about 8:30 AM.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0The accident started with \u00a0semi losing its load and ending up in a ditch in the eastbound\u00a0lanes.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Ambulances and wreckers \u00a0have been called to the scene, along with law enforcement agencies of the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Stutsman County Sheriff&#8217;s Office<\/p>\n<p>Scanner reports say there is zero visibility with snow and blowing snow, Monday morning, with several accidents during the morning hours.<\/p>\n<p>Many\u00a0vehicles are in\u00a0 the ditches\u00a0on the\u00a0Interstate and other roadways in the Stutsman County area.<\/p>\n<p>Also&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p>The North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) and the North Dakota Highway Patrol (NDHP) have closed I-29 from Grand Forks to the Canadian Border due to blowing snow and drifting at interchanges, creating zero visibility and hazardous driving conditions.<\/p>\n<p>The North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) and the North Dakota Highway Patrol (NDHP)\u00a0Monday morning has \u00a0issued a <strong>Travel Alert <\/strong>for the cities of Valley City, Jamestown, Edgeley and surrounding areas due to high winds causing reduced visibility and areas of scattered ice.<\/p>\n<p>A <strong>Travel Alert \u00a0<\/strong>is still in effect for, Wahpeton and\u00a0surrounding areas due to high winds causing blowing snow to stick to the roadway creating areas of scattered ice.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown ND\u00a0 (KCSi-T.V. News) Feb 17, 2013)\u00a0 \u2013\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u2013\u00a0\u00a0 The Jamestown City\u00a0Fire Department responded to two\u00a0 calls, Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>At noon,\u00a0two units with 22 fire fighters went to \u00a0Roseadele at 1505 Third Street Southeast, to a cooking fire.<\/p>\n<p>The fire was out on arrival with smoke being vented from the building.<\/p>\n<p>Then at about 7-p.m., units responded to a call of an individual burning wet wood.<\/p>\n<p>After further investigation of the call, the units were called back, not being needed.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News) &#8212; The James River Humane Society reminds residents that the biggest event of the year is just around the corner.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday\u2019s Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2, President, Jennifer Barnard said, the annual Potato Bar and Silent Auction will be held March 9<sup>, <\/sup>2013, at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Jamestown.<\/p>\n<p>Tickets are $10 and includes entry for the raffle, as well as the meal.<\/p>\n<p>She pointed out some of raffle items donated so far.<\/p>\n<p>Those include a gift card for a spa day at Top Designers, a beautiful picture from Simply Home, golf packages from Hillcrest, amazing baskets and gift cards from local merchants, a bug deflector from RealTruck.com and more.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone interested in purchasing tickets or having items to be donated for the event contact Jennifer Barnard at 320-4962, of the the shelter at 252-0747.<\/p>\n<p>They are looking for baked goods for dessert at the Potato Bar, and those interested in donating may drop off items at the KC\u2019s that day.<\/p>\n<p>Also, needed are ticket sellers.<\/p>\n<p>Again contact Jennifer if interested in selling tickets for this event.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Upcoming events include: a Bake Sale at the Buffalo Mall on March 16<sup>th, at 10-a.m.<\/sup>. Ms. Barnard added that she\u2019s stepping down as president, after serving for three and a half years.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting will be held at Hardee\u2019s at 6:30pm, which is earlier then previous years, so note the time change for this year.<\/p>\n<p>Ms. Barnard pointed out that later this month the shelter and veterinary clinics in Jamestown, Valley City, and Carrington, will offer reduced costs for spaying and neutering pets. He is the winner of the top prize at the International Geneva Saxophone Concours and MTNA National Music Competition.<\/p>\n<p>Peterson holds degrees from Youngstown State University, Le Conservatoire de Bordeaux and Bowling Green State University. He is instructor of saxophone, bassoon and jazz ensemble at Concordia College.<\/p>\n<p>He will be joined by Doug Neill on bass, Joel Thompson on drums and Mary Marshall on piano.<\/p>\n<p>The series concludes with the Sonic Escape instrumental ensemble on Saturday, March 23. News) &#8212; The Frontier Village Association has discussed hosting a World Fast Draw Association event in August, this year, providing $5,000 for expenses can be raised.<\/p>\n<p>The Jamestown Shootout and is scheduled for August 9-10, 2013 and is listed on the WFDA\u2019s Facebook page as a sanctioned event.<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown hotels will be contacted for sponsorships, in exchange for a listing in the WFDA National Registry.<\/p>\n<p>It was noted that guns used in WFDA events fire blanks or wax bullets to break paper targets or balloon, to find the fastest and most accurate shooters.<\/p>\n<p>Contestants also dress in cowboy regalia, often in the style of older western movies.<\/p>\n<p>The board unanimously approved the Executive Committee reviewing applications for the currently vacant Frontier Village manager\u2019s position.<\/p>\n<p>Recommendations will be made to the full board at its next regular meeting.<\/p>\n<p>The seasonal summer position is 26 hours per week at $10 an hour.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone interested in applying should call 701-320-2725.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) &#8211; The North Dakota Supreme Court has ruled that a Grand Forks attorney is incapacitated and cannot practice law.\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nLee R. Finstad applied for incapacitated status Thursday. He says he experiences anxiety, thoughts about Vietnam and flashbacks. He says this has resulted in his being unable to practice law.\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The court granted Finstad&#8217;s request and ordered that his clients be notified.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Finstad specialized in veterans&#8217; issues and served briefly as veterans&#8217; service officer for Grand Forks County. The county commission terminated him in September.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0FARGO, N.D. (AP) &#8211; One year after four students at North Dakota State University died in a traffic crash family and friends say they are still trying to move on from the tragedy.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The four freshmen were from far-flung suburbs of Minneapolis and were heading back to school after President&#8217;s Day weekend last Feb. 20 when they were killed in a three-vehicle crash near Alexandra. Killed were 18-year-olds Lauren Peterson of Prior Lake, Megan Sample of Rogers and Danielle Renninger of Excelsior; and 19-year-old Jordann Playle of Elk River.\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nThey are still trying to understand why the tragedy happened.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The NDSU student government plans to mark the anniversary by planting four trees on campus.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; North Dakotans could get a tax credit for making a contribution to a nonprofit organization that operates a homeless shelter in the state under a Senate bill that unanimously passed the Senate last week. It now heads to the House.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 It&#8217;s one of several bills being heard in the Legislature this week.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Michael Carbone, director of the North Dakota Homeless Coalition, says increased donations will help. He told The Associated Press that the state has an immediate need for at least 1,500 beds statewide.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Carbone says people are coming from across the country to North Dakota, drawn by the state&#8217;s strong oil-fueled economy. (AP) &#8211; The number of concealed weapons permits and renewals in North Dakota 2012 increased by 55 percent across the state.\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nIn 2011, a total of 5,634 permits and renewals were issued statewide for concealed weapons.
