News) &#8212; The Stutsman County Sheriff\u2019s Office reports, a man was arrested, in connection with a burglary that occurred on Tuesday (Jul 24, 2012) three miles northwest of Eldridge. The incident was reported at 5:49-p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Sheriff Chad Kaiser says, Thomas Hoggarth was arrested on charges of burglary, theft and criminal trespass.<\/p>\n<p>The reports says the Sheriff\u2019s Office and Jamestown Police apprehended the suspect after the resident returned home to find her house has been broken into and burglarized.<\/p>\n<p>She confronted the man who the report says returned most of her property to the driveway from his car, and the then left.<\/p>\n<p>She followed the car and the suspect was located, and taken into custody.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News) &#8212; A Stutsman County Sheriff\u2019s Deputy escaped serious injury when his Sheriff\u2019s pickup truck unit, was involved in an accident during a pursuit, on July 19, 2012.<\/p>\n<p>Sheriff, Chad Kaiser said, Deputy Damien Hoyt was in pursuit of a car reported stolen in Iowa. The pickup missed a curve about five miles north, and six miles east of Jamestown at about 1:40-a.m., on Thursday July 19, 2012.<\/p>\n<p>The pickup landed on its side. Hoyt was checked for injuries and released from the hospital. About $7,600 damage was reported to the Sheriff\u2019s unit.<\/p>\n<p>The two suspects were apprehended later in the day in Barnes County by the Sheriff\u2019s Office there.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News) &#8212; Drag racers, and fans from around the region will turn out for drag racing, on Saturday and Sunday, July 28, and 29, 2012, at Jamestown Regional Airport.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday\u2019s Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2, Jamestown Drag Racing Association, President, Leon Westerhausen said dragsters from the Dakotas, Minnesota, Montana, and Canada are expected to compete in six classes.<\/p>\n<p>He said the vehicle classes range from everyday street vehicles, to modifieds, with the 16 fastest modifieds in the &#8220;Pro E.T.,&#8221; competing in the &#8220;Quick 16.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>A highlight on Saturday is the &#8220;Sheriff\u2019s Race,&#8221; featuring Stutsman County Sheriff, Chad Kaiser, versus Burleigh County Sheriff, Pat Heinert, starting between 12:30 and 1-p.m.<\/p>\n<p>The Junior Dragsters are small versions, operated by youth 8- 16 years old.<\/p>\n<p>Also competing will be snowmobiles modified to race on pavement, along with ATVs and motorcycles.<\/p>\n<p>The gates open at 7-a.m. each day, with the time trials starting at 9-a.m., with eliminations starting at 1-p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Admission is $8 per person and children under six are admitted free.<\/p>\n<p>The vehicle entry fee is $40, or $35 per day if entered both days.<\/p>\n<p>Trophies will be given out to winners in the various classes.<\/p>\n<p>Food vendors will also be on hand.<\/p>\n<p>Westerhausen thanks the major sponsor, Buffalo City Tourism, along with the support of the Jamestown Regional Airport Authority, and the City of Jamestown, along with other sponsors.<\/p>\n<p>\u3000<\/p>\n<p>BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A farm aid organization that started in North Dakota six years ago is expanding into its fifth state.<\/p>\n<p>Farm Rescue was started by North Dakota farm native Bill Gross, who flies cargo airplanes for UPS.<\/p>\n<p>Farm Rescue organizes volunteers who help injured, ill or disaster-stricken farmers plant and harvest their crops.<\/p>\n<p>The effort began in 2006 with Gross, three other volunteers and not much money. It has since expanded into South Dakota, Montana and Minnesota, and the group is now going into Iowa.<\/p>\n<p>Farm Rescue has helped almost 200 farmers, with aid from volunteers from around the country. It&#8217;s supported largely by donations from around the nation &#8211; and by more than 200 business sponsors.<\/p>\n<p>Gross says it&#8217;s &#8220;exciting and inspirational&#8221; to see how Farm Rescue has grown.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A suspect in an armed robbery in Williston has been arrested in Kansas.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Williston Police Detective Cory Collingssays the 60-year-old man has made an initial court appearance.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Police say the man had a gun, but he didn&#8217;t point it at anyone when he took an undisclosed amount of money from the bank on July 18.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Collings says the department is checking to see why the man was in Williston.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0DEVILS LAKE, N.D. (AP) &#8211; The former director of a vocational<br \/>\nrehabilitation program on the Spirit Lake Sioux Indian Reservation<br \/>\nhas been sentenced for improperly approving program benefits.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Martina Kazena, of Fort Totten, will have to serve three months<br \/>\nin a halfway house and seven months of home detention.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 She pleaded guilty in January to charges that she conspired to<br \/>\nsteal from a tribal organization and that she aided in the thefts.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 She said that while she was the vocational rehabilitation<br \/>\nprogram&#8217;s director, she approved benefits for her husband William<br \/>\nand other people who didn&#8217;t qualify for them.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A new study says North Dakota&#8217;s oil<br \/>\nproduction could jump more than threefold by 2025 to more than 2<br \/>\nmillion barrels a day.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The study released Wednesday by Bentek Energy LLC of Colorado<br \/>\nalso says natural gas production could more than quintuple by 2025<br \/>\nin the Williston Basin. The basin includes the Dakotas and Montana.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Natural gas is a byproduct of oil production in North Dakota,<br \/>\nwhich is the nation&#8217;s No. 2 oil producer behind Texas.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 About a third of the natural gas produced in North Dakota is<br \/>\nwasted because there aren&#8217;t enough pipelines to carry it to<br \/>\nmarkets.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 State Pipeline Authority director Justin Kringstad says the<br \/>\nstudy estimates future gas production and the number of facilities<br \/>\nand pipelines needed to process and transport the fuel.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>WEST FARGO, N.D. (AP) &#8211; West Fargo&#8217;s school board has agreed to<br \/>\nbuy as much as 12 acres of land for the possible construction of a<br \/>\nnew elementary school.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The district has been steadily gaining students. It has more<br \/>\nthan 7,500 students in kindergarten through the 12th grade, and<br \/>\nofficials expect enrollment to grow another 5 percent in the coming<br \/>\nschool year.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The land is about a half-mile east of Veterans Boulevard in<br \/>\nFargo. The\u00a0 district is paying $30,000 an acre.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The money will come from an $82.5 million bond issue that was<br \/>\nrecently approved by West Fargo voters to pay for school<br \/>\nconstruction.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0MINOT, N.D. (AP) &#8211; The Ward County Commission may ask voters to<br \/>\napprove a one-half percent sales tax for county building projects.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The proposed tax would take effect in November and last for no<br \/>\nmore than 10 years. It would finance construction of a county<br \/>\noffice building, an expansion of the county jail and a renovation<br \/>\nof the Ward County courthouse.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Some sales tax money would also be used to pay for repairs to<br \/>\npublic works that were damaged during last year&#8217;s Souris River<br \/>\nflooding.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The commissioners plan to decide Aug. 21 whether they&#8217;ll put the sales<br \/>\ntax on the November ballot.
